Prologue

"Reminiscing some old memories is making a person happy and sad. Sometimes our mind will suddenly think about our past."

"D-doctor M-mendez, W-what are we gonna do now?" Seira said to me nervously. She is the scrub nurse for today. Well I can't blame her it is her first time here in the OR to perform. But if you are in the OR your confidence should be build up so you'll not become nervous.

"Let's proceed." I told them while smiling although they can't see it. Then I start to tell them again what we will perform.

"We are performing a Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery and Let's pray for the sucess of this surgery." I said then we pray and starts the operation.

"Scalpel." Being a Cardio-Surgeon is making me proud because after all of my journey to reach my dream I finally made it kaya hindi ko pwedeng palagpasin ang oportunidad na ito this surgery will be a sucess. "Sternal Saw." sabi ko kay Tristan which is my surgical assistant for this surgery.

I am making an incision down to the center of the patient chest through the sternum so the heart and the coronary arteries can be seen. We need to use a bypass machine so the heart will be still. This surgery will be a still heart so we could perform the bypass surgery.

"Retractor."I said and then surgery goes on. As the time pass by the operation is most likely in a good condition.

"How is the patient?" Tanong ko sa anesthiologist as I continue to attached the new veins to the old areas of the coronary artery.

"In a good condition, Doc." I nodded then concentrate to the surgery. After attaching the new veins. The blood will flow freely at all. And then the pericardium can be closed over the heart.

"Drainage Tubes." I place it in the chest after a while.

"We will now closing the breast bones." sabi ko sa kanila so far maganda naman ang nagiging progress ng patient.

"Forceps. Metal Wires." And then I start to insert it. After we closed it we sutured the remaining tissues. Tristan will be the one who will finished the procedure so nagpaalam na ko sa kanila and then congratulate them for the sucess of the surgery.

"Congrats Team finish it already I am going now." I said then smile to them.

"Congrats Doc." They said to me in unison. My smile grew wilder because this is my first CABG and it is a sucess. After that I start washing my hands. There is someone else washing in the other side of the area so I look into it.That's stops me from washing a little while but continue to do so. I didn't know that she is working here. Or maybe kasama siya sa mga bagong hired na nurses.

"So you're working here?"I asked. Nakita kong napatigil siya sa gingawa niya at lumingon sa akin. Kitang kita sa mukha niya kanyang pagkagulat nang makita niya ako.

"Uhm..yes kasama ako sa mga newly hired nurses. I am assigned in the OR." Talia avoided my gaze then continue washing her hand.

"See you around." I waved to her then I exited.
Naglalakad ako ng hallway palabas ng OR para pumunta sa aking opisina. Nasa harap ako ngayon ng elevator at hinihintay itong bumukas. Pagkatapos ng ilang minuto bumukas na ito at pumasok na ako.

I press the VIP button. Magsasara na sana ang elevator ngunit may pumigil nito. As I looked into him. He is wearing a black sweater and pants na pinaiibabawan ng doctor's coat. He's a doctor? Well obviously? I laughed in my mind. As I look into his id template on the right side of the chest. My heart starts to beat faster than normal. Its been years since I last heard that name.

My face is neutral but my mind got frozen but stay still. He is already beside me. When the door closes. I see our reflection in it. What a day?huh? Bakit ba may sumusulpot na lang bigla. Sino pa kaya ang makakareunion ko.

"Sorry for that Miss, Buti nakahabol ako." He looked at me then smile but his expression suddenly change. Suprised to see who he is with. Suprised by the sudden encounter with me. Well I'm suprised either. He's more handsome now. He's features are now more masculine and looks so serious but not his personality ganon pa rin happy go lucky parin ba siya?Well maybe not? He is a doctor now he should be responsible.

"Kei?" He asked assuring himself that its me who's infront of him.

"Yes? Doc?" I respond.

"It's good to see you again, Doctor Keiranie Mendez."He said assured now because I already responded. His smile is the most wonderful smile in the world. Although I can't have him.

"Yeah, Good to see you wearing that Doctor Kazeion Ralez." I said while looking to his coat. He finally reach it huh?
