History of Aethera

Aethera... a land that thrives in magic. A land that has been blessed by the Gods to propser with divine energy. A land that has been ravaged by war...

There were many wars in fact, all bearing dramatic names such as The Great War, which was the war between mankind and elvenkind. The Great Elven War, which was the war between the Light Elves and the Dark Elves. You get the idea, right? Well there was one particular war that changed everything. This is surely dramatic, but I assure you that this is no exaggeration. This war was the war that blessed, or cursed, Aethera. The Divine War, a war between all races on Aethera, all fighting for the same cause. To bless their nations with the gift of magic. However, the humans saw this as the destruction to all life. Their plan was to contain the magic, for which race that would obtain the magic would have the power to end all other life. With this, the humans sought to defy the Gods, and tried to suppress the magic growing on the battlefield. Although they fought, mere mortals were no match against the Divines. But there were three particular mortals. A human, a Dark Elf, and an Orc. Realizing now that the plan to contain Divine magic would be futile, they turned to one final act of desperation. An act that would change all life on Aethera. With unity, the three mortals casted and released the Divine magic to not one nation, not one race, but to all life on Aethera.

No race was more powerful than the other, no nation would overpower another, no. All life on Aethera was now gifted with magic. Scattered amongst the mortals, there was magic bound to be displayed. Seeing this, the races had all come to a truce. To vow that this gift of Divine magic shall not spread from outside the lands of Aethera. And that any war to be had on foreign lands, will be had on Aethera. The Divine War ended with the Treaty of Aethereans.

Decades have passed since the release of magic in Aethera. War has struck once more within the lands. This time, revolving around the nation of Solis. A troubled kingdom with political divide. Another battle is to come...
