"I wanna take you out," Taehyung exclaims on the eve of their one year anniversary. It's been an amazing year together, even if they have to hide their affections from everyone else. It's worth it. It's worth getting to wake up and having Jimin wrapped up in his arms.

Jimin giggles beside him, leaning his head against his shoulder. He plays with Taehyung's hands, locking their fingers together and marveling at the size difference. "Like a date?" he asks softly.

"Yeah."

"We can't leave the dorm though."

"We can sneak out."

Jimin fully looks at him then, his eyes narrowed. "Won't we get in trouble?"

"Not if we're careful."

He bites his lip nervously. "Tae..."

"Please, Jiminie? I wanna do something special for you. You're always taking care of me but this time I wanna be the one taking care of you."

Jimin smiles and gently touches Taehyung's face, hesitating, before he pulls him in for a quick kiss. Taehyung wants to chase his lips with his own, leaning forward even as Jimin pulls away.

"Okay," he whispers.

Taehyung is overly excited about the prospect of finally going on a proper date with Jimin. Dinner at the dorm doesn't really count, especially with five other guys hanging around. It's bad enough they barely have a chance to be alone together.

They give excuses for not wanting to eat that night, citing stomach aches or a diet, and while the others seem a bit concerned, they don't question them which Taehyung is grateful for. Once they're all asleep, he and Jimin carefully make their way out of the building as stealthily as they can. He tightly grasps Jimin's hand in his own once they finally make it outside.

He doesn't waste time looking back before tugging Jimin along to the special little place he had researched about. It's nothing fancy, but it'll be special for them. Jimin seems curious and anxious as they approach the little restaurant. 

They manage to get a couple seats in the back and once they're seated, he can't stop himself from grinning. "We did it," he says proudly.

"We did," Jimin agrees, a smile stretching across his face.

"Order whatever you want, I'm paying."

"Tae—"

"It's okay," he says, reaching under the table to hold Jimin's hand. Jimin's cheeks turn pink. "I wanna do this, Jiminie."

Jimin worries at his bottom lip before he sighs and nods. "Okay."

The food isn't anything amazing, but it's definitely better than some of the stuff they've had at the dorms lately. Jimin eats it all heartily as Taehyung fondly watches him. His heart is pounding a mile a minute. He wants so badly for this night to go well. He knows it's nothing fancy or spectacular but Jimin never really cared about that kind of stuff anyway. Once they're finished, he pays for the meal like he promised and doesn't miss the fond smile on Jimin's face.

They walk back home hand in hand, leaning into each other for warmth. "Thanks for this," Jimin mumbles once they're close to home.

Taehyung squeezes his hand. "Of course."

Jimin stops walking suddenly and pulls him back. Taehyung blinks down at him curiously but doesn't have time to do anything before Jimin is leaning up and pressing a gentle kiss against the mask over his mouth. It ends too quickly and Jimin pulls him towards the building in a rush. Taehyung smiles at the back of his head.
