𝕄𝕒𝕜𝕚 ℍ𝕒𝕣𝕦𝕜𝕒𝕨𝕒Being woken up from that experience was different, being taken out of a virtual world that you have been in for months just to be thrown right back into an ordinary world. I couldn't see anything, complete darkness filled the room I had woken up in. Letting my eyes adjust to the darkness I slowly started to make out the items I could see around me. A heart monitor, many other monitors, and lots and lots of wires. Sitting up and looking around more I saw a faint light coming from outside my room, soon a scream shuddered throughout the room. It was Himiko's scream.
Just a second later bright lights blared throughout the room. Quickly I shielded my eyes, the light burned. I could hear Himiko's sobs and a stampede of footsteps. I uncovered my eyes and saw Kirumi standing next to my bed. Two nurses rushed in, one with a cart and one holding two bottles of liquid.
"Hello, Maki." Kirumi smiled before lifting my arm. "Do you remember anything? From the killing game I mean."
"K-Kirumi I thought you were dead." I stuttered out.
"That's exactly what i thought too, but here I am" She started to peel wires from my arm. "We really do need you to recite what you remember though."
"Monokuma, the monokubs, the victims, the blackeneds, the ex-" I could feel a tear run down my face, the executions. I could remember them all so vividly, Kirumi, Korekiyo, Gonta, Kaito and... Kaede's execution. Why are these things affecting me? I'm an assassin, I've killed so many and witnessed countless murders. I wiped away the tear with my other hand. "The executions and everything we did in between the trials."
"I see, it seems we have much explaining to do. Since you just woke up." Kirumi lifted my other arm and started to do the same thing as she was doing. I quickly glanced around the room taking in where I was.
"Is this a hospital?" I looked up at Kirumi.
"Not exactly, Me and everybody else will explain to you three later." Kirumi dropped my arm. "I must go ask Shuichi and Himiko a few questions, please excuse me," Kirumi smiled and turned around facing Shuichi before rushing to his bedside. I looked in front of me, then down at myself. I was wearing a hospital gown, robe? Kirumi had rolled the sleeves up and I could tell it went past my knees.
"Maki Harukawa? I can take you to your room right now." one of the two nurses was by my bedside holding a bag. I nodded, moving the thin blanket out of the way and standing on the cold floor. "You haven't actually walked in months, please use me as support." the nurse held out her hand for me to grab. Reluctantly placing my hand in hers I then tried to walk but lost my balance very quickly. Lifting myself back up I took a smaller step, I was walking again, a very wobbly walk but still walking.
The nurse led me down multiple halls until we arrived at one with a circular room at the end.
"These are the girl dormitories, through the door over there is a common room." The nurse pointed to a glass door, it was tinted dark pink so I couldn't see through it. "Yours is on the far right."
"Oh, thank you." I muttered as she led me to my room. Entering the room It wasn't anything out of the ordinary. My bed was a full size with a crimson duvet cover and dark green pillows. It matched my old uniform.
"You have clothing in the closet and your friends made a goodie bag for you." she handed me the bag she was holding, I bowed my head slightly, putting on a small smile. "I will be going now, if you need help we have call buttons next to the door in this room. The bathroom is in the hallway before these rooms if you need to use it." I nodded, the nurse turned around and left. Carefully I walked to the bed, tossing the goodie bag on it and then sitting down. There was a desk on one side of the room and next to it was a closet. Next to the door was a full length mirror. I stared at each thing in my room for a few seconds before I stood up.
I grabbed a uniform and underwear from the closet. quickly taking off the robe and changing. The uniform was big on me, I guess I didn't exactly get much exercise or extra nutrients when I was in the virtual world. my hair was a tangled mess, i couldn't even put them into twin tails.
I walked over to my bed and grabbed the goodie bag. inside there was a phone, tablet, notebook, a large sweater that would engulf me in it, a little bag of chocolates, and a note signed by everybody that had died in the VR program.
the note read:
"Hello Maki!
We're so happy to hear you've woken up! well, we haven't heard yet but you should be getting this note! we had such a great time with you in the virtual world until we all met an untimely death. good news: we are here now! alive and well! for some of us we have been waiting months, for others it's been maybe a few days. There's so much to catch up on and we can't put all of that in a letter. We can't wait to see you again, please come to the common room as soon as possible!
Sincerely, Kaede, Kaito, Kirumi, Kokichi, Keebo, Miu, Angie, Tenko, Ryoma, Gonta, Kiyo, and Rantaro"
A small smile formed on my lips. I missed everybody, but I didn't expect everybody to miss me. Setting the note on my desk and then looking in the mirror, I was ready to go and see them again. All of them.
I can even see Kaede again.
