Sev and Helena run down the path to the lake and lay down in the grass.
"Do you ever wish that you could punish your father for what he's done to you and your mum?" Helena asks Severus after a few minutes of silence. Sev thinks for a few minutes. I would love to make him pay but.... vengeance is cruel and I don't want to be know for cruelty.... is Helena testing me?
"I would want him to pay but......" he trails off looking into the clouds. Severus picks a flower and rolls it between his fingers.
"You don't wanna do the things he's done to you to him?" Severus nods and looks over his shoulder at her.
"Yes. I don't think I could do it. But I know he deserves it!" He says forcefully. Helena looks troubled at these words. "Helena? You look..... sad." She looks at the sky.
"What Tobias Snape does is wrong and cruel but I don't think anyone, even him, deserves it."
CRASH
The kids jump up looking around for the source of the noise. Their eyes rest on a small girl blushing and looking down. "Sorry... I didn't mean to spy. But your conversation was really interesting..." Severus and Helena look at each other and share a confused look.
"Who-"I'm Lily!"
Severus looks down at the flower in his hands..... then at Helena..... and back to Lily. Then he smiles.
