Chapter 3

Chaeyoung

It's our first day in Seoul after getting settled in, I'm excited to see what Chanmi thinks of the area. Since I'm the new head of the school, I should head to the academy early. We eat our breakfast and then I drop Chanmi off at school. I find a parking spot in the parking lot and as I enter the academy, the person at the front desk says, "Excuse me sir, I'm sorry but you can't park there. That row of spots are reserved for staff only."

I think she is a bit confused, but that is okay. Not many people think I'm the big boss and that's okay, it helps me blend in. I don't need my name to be plastered in the title or my face on the academy website. "I'm the new drawing teacher. I'm sorry if I caused any trouble." I say and then leave to go to the head office. "I-" the receptionist started but then stopped.

"Wait sir! That's not the way to the drawing room!" she shouts as I walk down the hall. "It's okay. I'm just going to go to the head office to check in first." I responded and walked into the office and sat in the chair, it's good to be back. I transferred the head of this academy to the academy in Daegu, so that I could work here while Chanmi goes to school.

I should probably check out the drawing studio, so I exit the office and go to the drawing studio. I decided to do a few sketches and paintings since I didn't have class for a few hours. After finishing a painting piece, the students started coming in.

All of the students are all so talented, I really enjoyed teaching them and seeing their creations. After class, I head to the office and wait for Chanmi's dance class to finish. I couldn't watch her because there was a lot of paperwork I had to look through for the academy.

I heard a knock on the door, that must be Chanmi! I can't wait to ask her about how her first day was, I open the door and Chanmi gives me a big hug. "How was your day Chanmi?" I ask as I close the door.

"It was so much fun! A lot of people wanted to be my friend at school, but I was kind of shy, but that's okay. Our teacher told us a story about when he went to America and saw a baby alpaca named Jerry. He showed us a picture of him feeding Jerry hay and grass!" She rambled on, just like someone I once knew.

"Wow, sounds like you had a fun day at school! How was your dance class?" I asked. "Dance class was fun, but it was pretty hard meeting new people. The teacher was really pretty and she also walked me to the office after class." She said, I think she really admires the dance teacher. Maybe I should walk by and say hi sometime. "She did? I didn't see her. Well, I hope you're having lots of fun. Should we cook dinner at home or go out?" I ask, done with work for the day. "Hmm, let's cook at home!" she decided with excitement. "We need to go to the store to get some groceries, so let's go." I say as I pack up my things.

Like everyday after school, I head to the cafe to play my favorite game, but that little girl was on my mind the whole time. She felt so familiar, but my head has been filled with so many weird thoughts through these past few days, it's probably just confusing me on purpose.

I finished playing my game, but I didn't win because my mind was clouded with...well, we all know who, but I did manage to get to top 10.

Maybe if I find out whose voice that is then my thoughts might settle for once. Or maybe if I find him, then everything will be calm.

"Hello?" I answered my phone. "Minaaaa, what are you doing?" Wow, she must be really bored. "Are you that bored that you have to contact your best friend?" I ask, teasingly. "Haha, very funny." Sana said, sarcastically. "Well, yes and no. Momo wanted to hang out again, you know, like a girls night." She suggested. This might be good for me, get out there again. "Okay." I respond, but although right now it sounds like a good idea, I may regret this later on because well, at night they become very, how should I put this nicely, wild.

"Really?! Wow that's a first. We'll pick you up in 10!" she says with a squeal at the end. What a night this'll be.

I took out a short dress. Well, I finally have a chance to wear this now, I shrugged and put on the plain noodle strapped black dress that flowed down to my knees. "Minaaa!" I hear Sana yell from the car. "Woooo, look at you!" She says. I laugh a little and sit in the passenger side.

We go to a club and of course once we get there Momo and Sana start dancing. I find a table and sit and watch my best friends have the time of their lives. I finally worked up some confidence and joined them on the dance floor.They seemed very surprised and happy for me at the same time. The night consisted of dancing, a little bit of drinking, and A LOT of laughing. It was about 1 AM when we left the club and decided to get sandwiches at Subway. "We should do this more often." I say before I take a bite of my sandwich.
