Jay's POV

"So why the fuck are you here bitch." I said while looking at my best friend, Kai.

"I was bored, what do you mean."they answered nonchalantly. Unfazed by any thing.
" Now give me a hoodie I'm fucken cold."

I handed them one of my black champion hoodies.

" Now was that so fucken hard to do bitch."
They said with a wide smile on their face.

They took off their clothes then they put on the hoodie.

I took my phone from my side table and started scrolling on Instagram. Until I felt a dip on one of the corners of my bed.

" Jay." said Kai softly.

I put my phone down as I looked up at my best friend.

"What is something wrong?" I asked knowing that something could be wrong. Their family are not the most accepting people I know.

"No, not really." she sighed " Mark is back."

Mark is her step father is an abusive asshole of a person. He was arrested 3 years ago for attempting to break into someone's house.
But now he was back, and I was not happy at all.

"You are not going back to that house with him around!" I gritted through my teeth. "You're going to stay right here. Do you understand."

"Yes mother I understand." Kai said with a small smile plastered on their face.

I was happy that they decided to stay the night. I really don't want them in the same house as Mark.

"Let's go to your place and get your stuff, yeah?" I said and Kai nodded in response.

When we got to Kai's house we were greeted by Mark's crusty ass self standing in the door way.

"We if it isn't my favorite fags." said Mark with an unsettling grin.

I swear I will yeet this dude to The Great Wall Of China if he doesn't shut the fuck up-

"Move Mark." I gritted.

"What will you do little boy." Mark said his speech slurred as if he was drunk.

I pushed him aside and got inside.

We went up to Kai's room and collected some of their clothes for them to wear to school.

"Is that all you're going to take with you?"
I asked ready to yeet out this place.

"Yep, let's leave." Kai said smiling with out a care in the world.

But I knew that they were just putting on a front so I didn't notice their pain.

But they thought wrong.

"Okay let's go. We'll get some McDonald's on the way there." I said smiling softly.

When we got to the living we saw the big ugly ogre A.K.A. Mark sitting in one of the arm chairs in the living room.

"Where do you think you're going Katie,"
Mark asked Kai with a twisted smile on his face.

It's the yellow teeth for me.

"I'm going to Jay's house for a few days." Kai answered blankly.

"Well go ahead. Less people to feed." the ogre spoke.
