"Last day of the week." I sigh to myself. "Maybe the next one won't be as bad..."
Slowly, I walk into my first hour class and go to my seat. As I sit down and start unpacking my things, someone comes over and sits in the desk next to mine. 'I've never seen him here before...' I think to myself. I notice him looking at me through the corner of my eye so I turn to face him. As soon as I do I start feeling extremely flustered. He was just so... pretty... with his silky jet black hair and beautiful doe like eyes.
"Hello." He says, sweetly.
"H-Hi...." I say shyly.
"I'm Kim Lee, but you can call me Lee." He says, smiling.
"I-I'm Paisley Miller..."
"Nice to meet you Paisley."
I have no idea why he's talking to me when he could literally just talk to anybody else in the room. I was the most undesirable person here. 'Maybe he's new...' I think to myself. ' I highly doubt he'd actually want to talk to me if he was from here...'
After school as I'm about to head home, Lee runs up to me.
"Paisley!" He says cheerfully.
"Oh, hi Lee!" I respond with a fake smile
"Could I walk with you?"
I look at him in confusion for a minute before giving him an answer.
"Y-Yeah, I don't mind.. but why me and not someone else? I can't be the only person you talked to today.."
"Well, I did try talking to other people too but you're the only one who hasn't pushed me away... Why do you ask?"
"I don't know..." I sigh. "It's just that... Not very many people want to be around me I guess."
"I understand... I felt the same way back home..." he says.
We walk in silence for a bit before I awkwardly say,
"I should get going... My Mums probably wondering where I am."
"Yeah.. I probably should too... but before we head our separate ways..." He hands me a piece of paper "Here. Text me later if you can."
I just smile and take the paper then start heading home, feeling very confused.

The next day, after all my classes, I'm about to walk off the school property, but a group of girls stop me. I instantly recognize who they are.
"Where do you think you're going?" Lydia, scoffs.
She pushes me over and kicks me. Her friend, Samantha, picks me up by the front of my shirt and knees me in the stomach then firmly stands me up right so she could do it again. The third girl, Miranda, grabs my backpack and digs through it, dumping everything out and throwing my books across the ground, searching for my money.
"Why don't you do everyone a favor and kill yourself!" Lydia laughs, as Samantha throws me to the ground again. "You're just in everyone's way by being here!"
I started to cry. I knew she was right...
"Why are you crying? God, you're such a fuckin wimp!" She says, spitting in my face.
"Hey!! What do you think you're doing!? Leave her alone!!" someone yells, angrily.
Surprised, I look over and see that it's Lee. He starts heading towards them and they run off. I just look at him in shock, but he only smiles. He helps me up and wipes away my tears.
"Are you okay...?" he asks, putting his hand on my shoulder.
I nod then quickly start picking my stuff up off the ground.
"I was planning on exploring a bit. Would you like to join me?" he asks, sweetly as he helps me with my things.
"Yeah... That'd be nice..." I replay, still unsure as to why he was being so nice to me.
After a while we decide to head to the park and just sit in the grass. I pull out my speaker and put on some music.
"Can I show you a song?" He asks.
"Yeah, of course." I say handing him my phone.
A Song called "Spring Day" starts playing.
"It's so pretty..." you say, jokingly wiping away a tear. "Even though I have no idea what they're saying..."
"It's Kpop." He chuckles "The band's name is BTS."
"I might start listening to them. They sound pretty cool."
"They call their fans ARMYs. It stands for Adorable Representative M.C for Youth." He says excitedly.
I giggle a little. It's kinda cute when he gets excited. He lays down on the ground and sighs.
As another song plays, I lay down next to Lee and start talking again.
"So, where you from?"
"Daegu, but I've lived in New York most of my life."
"Oh?"
"Yeah" He says, fiddling with a piece of grass. "My father and I moved there after my mother passed away.."
"Oh.. I'm sorry.."
"No no it's alright I barely knew her anyway.. though sometimes I wish she was still here.."
"I understand how you feel." I sigh. "My dad died when I was really little.."
We sit in silence for a few seconds not knowing what else to say.
"Anyway uh.. What's New York like?" I ask, feeling a bit awkward.
"It's a pretty cool place but..."
his expression suddenly changes.
"What's wrong?"
"I loved it there, it's just that... I didn't really have anyone I could talk to... the only people I could turn to was BTS... one time I went to one of their fan meets... each and every one was so kind and supportive of all ARMYs.... including me..." He smiles. "I know it may sound silly but they were the closest thing I ever had to friends..."
"I know how you feel..." I respond, sadly.
We sit at the park for another hour or two just listening to music and chatting. 'I wonder how long this will last before it all goes to shit...' I think to myself. 'I just know I'm gonna screw up... I always do...'
