Ellie
It was about a month before the beginning of September when I got my letter. An owl had been sent to deliver it. Of course, I hadn't prepared for the moment of acceptance into Hogwarts, partially because I didn't think they'd want.. me.
I had lived with my aunt and uncle my whole life. My parents were some of the strongest and most powerful alumni of Hogwarts. We had a golden legacy. That is until my brother had to go and tarnish it. He was the only Slytherin in our family.
(There was nothing wrong with him being a Slytherin. It was just his tendancies.)
Anyways, he had become loyal to He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named. He became a death eater. He did some really messed up things. Most of which I won't mention yet. But what he did to Hogwarts... What he did to everyone... He destroyed the family legacy.
All of our good deeds and achievements went unrecognized after him. Anyone with the McCain name was considered a traitor. So when my owl arrived, I was almost sure I hadn't made it in.
~•~September rolled around pretty quickly actually. My aunt and uncle brought me to platform 9 3⁄4 to board the train to Hogwarts.
"Remember to write us. Please keep in touch, Ellie. Especially if anyone starts anything about your broth-"
"I'll be fine for now." I cut her off. I gave her a reassuring hug and I boarded the train.
As soon as I stepped on board, the amount of unfamiliar faces slowly started to overwhelm me. There weren't many empty seats so I just sat in the very back corner. I watched as others began filling in the train. I clutched my carry-on bag in hopes nobody would sit near me, but unfortunately, like every other point in my life, my hopes were crushed. A bleach-blonde boy, with his hair slicked back, his tie even, and his grey glossy eyes, had walked up to me.
"I'm Malfoy. Draco Malfoy. And you are?" he stared at me for a second before I actually realized he was talking to me.
"Oh.. um, I'm..uh, Elliana or Ellie. Or whatever you want to call me." I smiled as he extended his hand out gesturing me to shake it. "Nice to meet you, Draco." he sat across from me.
"So, what house do you think you'll get?" I looked up at him.
"I feel like I'll be a Gryffindor, like my aunt and uncle. They're both Gryffindors." he looked amused, then confused.
"Aunt and uncle? What about your parents?" I knew that it was going to come up eventually. I looked at him, smiled, and then began reading a book. "Oh, I see." he got up, and walked towards seats containing a male and female. I don't think he realized that I wasn't being rude. He seemed upset.
But I've been told about the Malfoys before. God, what was it that I was supposed to remember about them?

FanfictionA Hogwarts Story. The protagonist is an oc I made named Ellie. I'm terrible at describing things so this Description is trash (I'm so sorryyyy). Also, this story goes through 7 years at hogwarts.
