Words could describe his pain. The feeling of being alone, and hated for no reason. the reason his family gives was not his fault.

His Mother disappearing was not his fault. Being weak from the beatings and malnourished from not eating.

He sat on the floor with his last birthday gift from his mother. It was a universe pendant, the one that Y/n always wanted. He remembered her words clearly.

???: My Son. Being the bright light that has carried so far, One day you won't be just my light, You'll be the Universe's light. Happy Birthday, Y/n." She takes him in her arms patting his head as he cried thanking her.

That memory he replayed each day not wanting to forget about it.

At that point, he knew where, when, and every single word his mother said. But a day after she went on a mission, and well... She never came back.

His family didn't take it too well either. Which led to the beatings, and the fountain of chores Y/n had to do.

???: GET DOWN HERE YOU USELESS PIECE OF TRASH!"

But as if on cue his asshole of a father called him, probably wanting him to clean or sit there and take another reasonless beating.

Y/n tucked in his pendant under his shirt and made his way to the kitchen.

Seeing his father Tai standing there with a pissed-off look. His Little Devils right next to him.

Tai: I Expect you have the kitchen cleaned and dinner done by the time we finish with training. Get to it." He pushed Y/n down roughly. Yang and Ruby followed behind him.

Leaving Y/n to do all the work. He sat up and brushed off the dust that could have got on him.

Skillfully he made dinner and cleaned the kitchen with a tune last left from his mother. Once finished he stood still waiting for his family to walk in.

Several minutes later they came in and sat down, eating away.

Zwei, their beloved dog came and confronted him knowing that they won't let him eat anything but a piece of bread.

Having finished with food. They tossed their plate in the sink.

Ruby missed and the plate smashed. She looked at Y/n.

Tai: WHAT BROKE!" he stormed in his fist bared. Ruby pointed at Y/n.

Y/n: I didn't!

Tai punched him sending him to the floor.

Tai: CLEAN IT UP USELESS!" He punched him again. "CAN EVEN WASH A PLATE PROPERLY? GO UP AND ROT TO DEATH." he said escorting Ruby out of the kitchen.

Y/n patted his ruffed-up eye, it feeling numb. Sighing he picked himself up and tread towards his 'room'.

He took a glance at himself in the mirror, looking deep within his e/c and Gray eyes. It reminds him of how Summer his mother loved them.

How mysterious the e/c eye looked, and how the Gray eye looked sophisticated.

His black hair is all messy covering his face. Truth be told Tai, Yang, and Ruby didn't want to see his face for he reminded them of how his mom loathed him so much.

Y/n laid on his back and looked out his window repeating the words 'One day you'll be the universe's light' in his head.

Y/n: Get out hurry, Oh there are mysteries and many miseries." He sang. "Dead or alive I'm on the brink of self-destruction." He sighed. "Can someone give me the answer to my question?"
