Snow fell from the fluff above and covered the ground like a soft blanket. The cold wind blew through the city streets and carried the feeling of love to everyone it passed by. A sense of happiness was in the air and the smell of mint mixed with aroma of freshly baked sugar cookies. The laughter of children echoed down the narrow streets and flowed between the houses. If you looked into the windows you could see the lights shining brightly against the green of Christmas trees. Most everyone embraces this time of year with wide arms and heavy coats, but not Sandra Dallas.

My eyes could barely open because of the bright light streaming into my bedroom from the window. Oh how I yearned to just go back to sleep, but the brightness prevented me from doing that as well. I rolled over in my bed to look at my alarm clock. As usual, I woke up an hour before I really needed to. Time to start the boring routine I call my life.
I swung my legs lazily off the side of the bed and let out a large yawn while attacking my eyes with the palms of my hands. Already I could feel the cold setting into my bones and I sighed, slightly annoyed. Everyday as it gets closer and closer to Christmas I ask myself, "Why do people enjoy this time of year?" I understand why children do and I understand why parents do as well. Having a child around this time of year is always special. There's so much beauty and the children are always so full of wonder, everything's amazing. I guess that's worn off of me at the age of nineteen.
I slowly tumed on the water in my bathroom and checked the tempurature with my wrist. A lazy smile came to face at how quickly the water heated up. "Today might actually be a good day," I muttered to myself as I stripped down. I looked down towards my slightly pudgy tummy and frowned. I need to drop at least ten pounds and quick before my next fashion show. Megan will tear into me if she sees the weight I've gained. Five pounds isn't much, but it's a lot when you're a famous model. My number one rule to follow; If you gain weight you have to lose twice as much. Healthy right?

"So what are our plans for today?" I asked Megan. She shrugged and went back to aggressively pecking on her phone. My patience was running dangerously low. On the way to Complex 8J I got side-swiped by an elderly lady in a red mustang, my debit card was denied at Dunkin' Donuts, and I messed up my manicure from three days ago. I began to tap my foot annoyingly loud, just to try to get Megan's attention.
She finally looked up from her phone and gave me a look. I shrugged innocently and began to tap louder. I was about to quit and just walk out. This is the fifth time this week that Megan has been neglecting to tell me details about my upcoming and latest events. I can't risk missing anything important, because Megan won't be blamed. I will! That's the last thing I need.
Megan sighed, the annoyance clear, "What the hell do you want, Sandra?"
I froze, anger heating me up like a tea-kettle, "What the hell do I want? Well if you haven't noticed, I've missed two events in the past week because your lazy ass won't tell me about anything. You don't look bad when I miss something! I get all the blame and suddenly I'm the worst person in the world and a roumor goes around that I want to murder and eat babies! Do you not get how much of an impact that you make on my career? I signed on with you for a reason and I'm beginning to forget why, Megan!"
I expected her to scream back at me, but instead all I got was a chuckle and, "Cool it, Sandra. I've been busy all week planning one of the biggest things you'll do ever. I just sealed the deal and I have to tell you some exciting news."
I blinked a couple of times before it set in, "What's the news?"
She smirked and walked over to me in her extremely high heels. I felt her hands rest on my shoulders and she turned me so I could look out the window, "You're going to London for a month."
