The New arrival.

As the friends finished up lunch, Changbin being in time to save his bacon and beef sandwich, the topic of the day was set on one thing. The new arrival. The chatter was filled with gossip, facts, rumors and questions. It was like the tower of babel all over again, except everyone could understand each other. After lunch, the small group made their way over to the history room, keeping an eye open for anyone new. Walking into the class, they were greeted by a note on the whiteboard upfront saying, "The new student has not arrived. When he does, I expect you to behave your age and not scare him away. We will be looking over the Black Death today. Turn to page 394 in your books and start reading while I get my notes altogether."

Changbin groaned. He had hoped that today would be different for once but nope, Mr. Taemin wasn't giving up one second of the day for anything other then history. Boring. Taking out his book and earbuds, Changbin started the lesson. The only good thing about this class is that Mr Taemins actually told them that listening to music helps with taking in new information, giving them a go ahead to listen to their bops.

He was in the middle of Lit by Lay and the first thousand deaths when he saw movement in the corner of his eye. The teacher had left the room and was standing outside, looking like he was on the phone. Changbin looked behind him, where Jeongin and Jimin sat. Rasing his eyebrows and pointing with his head towards the door, the two followed with their eyes. They both had the lightbulb go off in their heads. Maybe the new kid was here already! Chang looked to his side, where an empty seat was. They had been given new assigned seats two weeks ago and Chang was the lucky one, with the extra seat.

By the time the teacher came back into the classroom, everyone was chatting, wondering if it was the new kid the teacher was talking about. Well, everyone except Changbin and Jeogin. They were the first to see and talked a bit before agreeing that it could be anyone Mr. Taemin was talking about on the phone. So they just went back to their work while Jimin, being the gossip bug he is, went around and told everyone he could about the phone call. The two friends both rolled their eyes when everyone froze upon seeing Mr. Taemin walk back in and then ran to their seats, many falling over each other.

The teacher simple sighed and said, "I'm guessing, judging by the state this room is in, that one, I can't leave you alone in a room for more then five minutes. And two, yes that phone call was about the new student. I will tell you no more. Oh and, thank you Changbin and Jeongin, for being the only two in this room acting their age and doing the work that was given!" Mr. Taemin's voice got slightly louder, telling the students that his patience was starting to wear out. After that, they all shut their mouths and went back to their work.

~Changbins POV~

Ugh. We still have 45 minutes of class left. When is the new kid going to come? Whatever, guess I should go back to this chapter. Wait. How far are we supposed to read again? Mr. Taemin didn't say anything about that. I raise my hand, getting my teachers attention. "Yes Changbin? What is it?" I ask him how much we read and what we do after. He responds with a small smile on his face. "Good question. Class!" Upon hearing his voice, everyone in my class raised their heads and looked to the front of the room. "Changbin asked a very good question. We will read to page 425 and then, if you are finished, I have a worksheet here for you when you're done. After that, you have free time in class."

I smile, I'm already finished the reading so I go up to get a worksheet. Upon a quick skim through, it seems to only be short answer questions. I let out a sigh of relief. Most times, we also have paragraphs and long answer questions as well. I run back to my seat and finish my work in under 10 minutes. Handing it in, I check my phone. 37 more minutes till history is over. I decide to check in on Mom and Dad.
