Y/N's POV

I answered the phone. I'm out of breath. I can't believe I  just did that.

Before I say something, I take a deep breath.

It's my dad "Hey, Dad, what's up?"

"Hey, Y/N. You've been in the same parking space for ten minutes. Everything alright?"

"Uh, yeah, dad. I'm fine. Me and Emily got distracted. We were having an.... 'in-depth conversation'" You look at Emily. She's smiling.

"Okay. I love you. And go home. I don't want you to stay overnight by accident." You laugh

"Bye, dad."

"Bye"

I sigh. I turn on the car, then I start driving home.

"Dad, huh?"

"Uh yeah. He's uh, he is my dad."

"Can't see the difference" We laugh. She puts her hand down, and I unwillingly put mine on top of hers. I can feel her eyes on me.

                                                                                      ~

We pull up to Emily's Apartment.

"Well, we're here"

"D-do you wanna come inside?" Emily said so quietly, I could barely even hear her.

"Um, I can't. I gotta go to a friends house and feed her fish. She is on a vacation." I say. "Where I want to go after each case" You put your hand on your head, dramatically. This makes Emily laugh.

"Bye Y/N"

"Bye Em." Emily closes the door and heads into her apartment. I watched for a second, to make sure she gets in there safely. I drive off to my friends house to feed their fish, wondering if I really kissed my best friend.

                                                                                  ~

I lay on my bed, wondering what would have happened if that didn't happen in the parking lot of my job. Or if my dad hadn't interrupted. Would we hav- no. Don't think about that. You just got out of a relationship.

I hold the neclace in my hand. It's kind of beat up. I wonder what he did to it to make it so damaged. Whatever. It's garbage now.

I throw it away then lay back down on my bed.

When I had just started working fo the FBI, Emily was the first person to hang out with me, She also gave me a bracelet. A pretty one too. I wonder where I put it.

I check my second drawer and it is right where I put it. I put it on my wrist. It's very beautiful. I don't think this was very cheap.

Then, my phone rang. It was Emily.  I quickly Answered the phone.
