Watch out for the rain!
He'll come if you don't pray!
With a big white coat,
And a hat on display.

He knocks on your window
And asks to come in.
Whatever you do,
Do not listen.

He comes to my house,
When it's dark and it's damp.
People beware, he's right under the street lamp.

You might not notice him
If your over a certain age,
But any child could tell you,
He knocks with his black cane.

If you do open your door reader beware,
Hide all children, and do not be scared.
Mr. Dead Man is harmless,
Or so he may seem,
But he will not harm you
If your over 17.

If a shadow cloud is in the distance,
And it looks as if it will pore.
Gather your children and hide them from sure.

This story I tell you not to give you a fright,
But to warn you instead to not repeat that night.

Mr. Dead Man is coming, and won't go away
Until the rain clouds have settled and it is once again day.

Hey so this is a poem based off of something that has stuck with me since childhood. When I was younger my mom says I came up with a man called Mr. Dead Man to get over my fear of hurricanes. The only reason why I thought of this was cause my younger cousin made up a similar tale and it is currently raining outside. Anyways hope you like it good luck, and stay safe.
