Chapter two, pt. oneThe faint background voices echo through your head, humming into your ears softly as if your entire being had sunk under water. They start off as gentle whispers filled with wisdom, pulling you into a soothing lullaby of murmurs and mumbling that seem to steadily increase in volume. Blinking your eyes open as an intoxicating tiredness clung to your eyelids, an exaggeratedly long yet calm "heyyy~" dragged out the vocals of a blurred and unknown figure that moved in front of your face.
Eventually, your temples pulse in sharp spikes of sudden pain as the voices ring into your ears as loud as ever.
"Hey, lady. Yeah- you there. Are you awake yet?"
Holy mother of pagans. Migraine.
The figures obscured your vision entirely which allowed your irises to strain and adjust, before finally allowing you to see clearly and focus. The giant blob of blurriness had now split into two figures, before slowly, another unknown face curiously peaks into your vision.
...Were you dreaming?
Because jesus christ, you never expected to be surrounded by three very beautiful and charming anime characters. You didn't mean to exaggerate, but surely they must have been the most beautiful human beings alive. Or, at the very least, the most stunning gentlemen you have ever laid your tired eyes upon.
"Oh, finally." One of the gents sighs with relief and carefully places a gentle hand on his own chest. His sharp facial features were framed by an overly neat undercut, split and parted to show off his forehead. His lips, shaping in the form of a beautiful heart as he grinned brightly, complimented the shimmering orbs of his chestnut eyes.
Oh. Oh you felt straight now. Straighter than a pole and certainly straighter than Donald Trump whenever he sees Kim Jong Un.
...OH. Wait-
"Women are supposed to get up and serve us. They aren't here to lay down and take naps on the floor." Another man spoke, dramatically rolling his eyes as he raked back his glowing caramel hair ever so smoothly, before placing his palms on his knees as he bent over to look down on you. His green-fitted attire surely caught your attention. Surely, his face was astonishingly handsome; sharp jawline with a softly rounded chin, perfect lips that complimented the rest of his fascinatingly symmetrical features.
But if there was one thing which annoyed you, it must have been sexism.
"Then men are supposed to work, fix engines and sit their lazy asses down all day to read the newspapers. Don't test me, you Irish-looking elf."
A choir of gasps.
Your eyes widen as you roll your head on the hard floorboards beneath you in sudden remembrance to scan your surroundings.
There were more men sitting at tables, smoking, drinking and conversing. Most of them were staring at you. And then there were women dressed in old-fashioned waitress outfits, serving the gentlemen with numerous beverages and meals.
You were in a bar.
"Kind of lousy, isn't she?" A third voice catches your interest and you look on your left to see a tall man with a more rotund face. His silvery, round glasses carefully sit on the bridge of his nose, shining with an argent luminescence that matched his grey-ish hair. "Sadly, she seems to be everything but what a woman should be."
