'Thank You'

I was stuck at the front of the surging crowd, the lights flashed!
Then suddenly the lights cut out and everything went dark, the crowd roared! I was pinned against the barrier, my ribs being crushed from the ever increasing force of other screaming fans trying to push themselves closer to the stage. We were all craving exactly the same thing-the sight of the 5 talented people, that we payed our well earned money to see perform! Chris, Ghost, Balz, Ryan and Ricky- The five bodies that made up the band Motionless in white. Oh Ricky, he's so beautiful, my idol... I'd do anything to meet him, give anything! But that's almost impossible isn't it?!
I don't have a back stage pass... I sighed.

I screamed at the top of my lungs as in the darkness as five men, dressed from head to toe in black, caked in black make-up, amazing musicians ran on stage and assumed their starting positions. Strobe lights went mad, a frantic drum solo started, the whole crowd felt the 'thrilling' vibes and adrenaline ...
I looked at my friend Marisa, she smiled at me her white teeth look so bright against her contrasting black 'lippy , I smiled back... Then she carried on screaming for Ryan- the band member of which she obsessed over.
The lighting changed to a deep red colour, so now the whole band were in plain sight. There was a massive uproar from the crowd, as the intro to 'Reincarnate' began.

'GET UP........!!' Chris Screamed the opening lyrics at the top of his voice.

I jumped and screamed along, I grabbed onto the barrier with one hand keeping my balance, whilst throwing my other in the air to the beat of the song.

I was on cloud nine.

The house lights came up and Chris began to talk to the crowd.

"What a beautiful bunch of muthafuckers we have in here tonight -now I know you all know the words to the next one... It's goes along the lines of A-M-E-R-I-C-A! "

His sexy American voice made me shiver.

Meanwhile, whilst Chirs was screaming st the crowd to heighten enthusiasm, I had made eye contact with Ricky. I mean, I was at the front of the barrier, on the left hand side of the stage, directly adjacent to his microphone. So I'm not surprised it happened - nut oh my god, I was thankful!
He looked at me, smiled cheekily and mouthed the words 'Thank You'.
My heart stopped...No way has he just picked me out of a whole crowd of thousands of people and mouthed something at me...!
This is unbelievable I thought.
HE NOTICED ME ....
but 'thank you'? That makes no sense?

Through out the rest of their set he kept looking at me, throwing his guitar pick to me, singing lines to me...He couldn't get enough of me, so weird I'm not exactly anything special, but he's the definition of perfection.
I just assumed he did this to the person infront of him most nights he performed, maybe I'm wrong, but it wouldn't be unheard of ? I literally don't care right now. I was not letting anything stop me from enjoying this night, since A.) I love Motionless in White and B.) I had scraped up all of my savings together to pay for my ticket.

Chris sang the final words to 'Abigail', then thanked us all for coming out to see them! The band waved, and all ran off stage!
That was one of the best shows I've been to!

The house lights then came up, the crowd had turned into a big sweaty mess from moshing, jumping and having a fucking good time.
We were all so pumped up! It's how I was always left after one of their shows.
The crowd pressed forward, eager to reach the fresh air of the open exit doors.

Somehow I ended up getting separated from Marisa, I got shoved one way and her another. When you're stuck I a crowd of this density you have to go with the flow, you can't do your own thing. Luckily we both had our phones on us so we could contact each other when we were outside the venue.
I was usually perfectly fine in crowds but suddenly I came over all light headed whilst being directed out of the venue like I was in a field in a herd of sheep. I urgently needed to find my escape route out of this... Being on 5ft 3 and in the middle of crowds aren't always the best places for me to be, I might as well be invisible.
But I just love the adrenaline of being in them and the music I get to see performed whilst in them. So it all measures out.

Anyway, right now everything started spinning.
I couldn't tell my left from right, or my up from down.
I needed to get out of the crowd NOW.

In the confusion i spyed a door, slightly a jar to the side of me. I pushed, shoved and fought my way through the masses of sweating, shuffling, shouting people, and threw myself through the door. I ended up in a heap on the floor.

I gathered my thoughts and picked my self up. I took a few large deep breaths and everything stopped spinning and went back to normal.
The door had closed behind me, and in front of me lay a corridor. I had a feeling I wasn't meant to be there, but anyway, I proceeded to walk down it because the door had no door handle on the other side so getting back through wouldn't be possible. In essence I was trapped.
It would be no good trying to ring Marisa now to tell her where I am and how I felt. She would still be in the middle of the crowd heading outside, she wouldn't hear her phone ringing and she wouldn't pick up. It was pointless.

At the end of the corridor was a map of back stage, which I'm guessing was there for the stage hands of the performers that visited to use. I stood reading it, using my iphone light to see. I was looking for the nearest fire exit or anything to leave through just to get outside. I couldn't make heads or tails of this map. I stood there, confused.

Suddenly, someone crept up and whispered 'Thank you' in my ear.
I shit my pants.
I recognised their voice, I turned around.
'RICKY?'
