He took my hand. His palms were surprisingly soft, he laced his fingers through mine, and lead me off down the corridor.
"So what do you want to drink when we get to the bus?" He asked me as he walked my down the dark hall.
Oh... What do I want? I thought, my mind went blank. Say something, say anything...
"Urmm what do you have?!" I asked politely
"Well, I know for sure that we have NakedJuice, Coke, Lemonade..." He paused and and took a breath. "To be honest there isn't much in the way of alcohol, due to most of the band being straight edge and all that. I can have a look as I'm pretty sure there's a few beers lurking, and some Malibu somewhere?" He replied...
"I'm really not fussy, whatever's going." I anwered, trying not to be a pain in the arse.

We walked down the corridor, round some corners and I swear was the longest one I've ever seen.
Then at the end of the last turning was a flight of stairs that lead up to the the stage.

"You want to go on stage? You can see what it's like to be up there, I'll show you my guitar and see what other cool stuffs about?!" He offered happily.
"Oh wow! That would be so cool! I'd love to ! If that's okay?"
"Yeah! Of course, it's not trouble at all! Jake, our backstage manager might be up there, we can say hello. He's such a dude, and literally a beast at beer pong, you always want him on your team otherwise you'll be smashed after 1 round." he laughed..
I laughed too.
"Don't worry I'm shit at beer pong, I've never been the the sporty athletic type anyway plus i have a pretty lame throw." I giggled.

We came to the base of the stairs, and I could see the over head stage lights as I looked up.
I headed up first, Ricky following behind. There were roughly 14 steps, and as we were half way I felt something soft quickly pass over my bum.
Had ricky just felt me up? surely he didn't?

I quickly looked over my shoulder, and he was looking down and holding on to the hand rail, nothing suspicious. He must have accidentally brushed over it whilst going to grab the rail for support on these rickety wooden steps.
Again, butterflies did somersaults in my stomach.
We reached the top and I stepped out onto the stage. I was in awe.
I gasped. This is awesome, I thought, this is incredible.
Ricky stood by my side and we looked around. It was breathtaking to be stood in the same spot where my idols performed less than an hour ago, and to be there with my teenage heart throb was just to good to be true. I pinched my arm to make sure it wasn't a dream, and seriously I felt like I was in one of those cheesy chic-flic films, I never gave the time of day too. I giggled at the patheticness of my actions. I am sucha weirdo, I thought.
Ricky must have caught wind of what I was doing out the corner of his eye, he looked at me and smiled.
"Pretty cool?" he asked.
"Yeah, it amazing! Thank you." I couldn't wipe the grin off my face.
He put his arm round me.

A tall man, with brown hair, dressed all in black and black converses on came out from behind the set carrying an armful of wires.
Ricky and I turned around to face him.
"Alright Jake?" He asked.
"Oh hey Ricky! Great show tonight, one the best crowds yet ey?! And that solo you did part way through was just great!- added a new level to the performance, I guess guess you were right after all! I can see that Chris will be pouting out his bottom lip and having a sulky face when he finds out how good your idea was. Against his better judgement." He complimented.
They both laughed, at the obvious inside information.
"yeah the crowd were good, and yeah I reckon Chris will have a face of thunder when he hears! Oh... this is my friend Alayia! and Alayia this is Jake the backstage manager." He said introducing us to each other,
I smiled awkwardly..
"hi.." I said quiet and shy. I then proceeded to stare at my dark red Doc Martins on the floor.
"Well, I'm gonna show her my guitar, see if i can find Balz's keyboard and all that kinda shit then we'll be off! We'll try not get in your way, hope that's okay?!" Ricky questioned.
"Oooohhhh fancy backstage access for you then!" He jested to me, then laughed happily. "Yeah Rick, that's fine, I'm about to pack these wires up then head of to that restaurant we passed on the way here, that's where all the guys are at? You coming?"
"Nah, I didn't really feel like it anyway plus now I have a guest to accompany." He replied.
I smiled.
He'd rather be with me than his bandmates?
wow seriously I have lucked up!
"Fair enough, catch you later then Rick, and Alayia it was a pleasure to meet you!"
"It's nice to meet you to Jake." I answered.
"See ya- BYEE!" Jake shouted a the ran off into side side of stage.
"Bye..." We both called simultaneously.

Ricky took his arm of my shoulder, and took my hand again.
"Guitars?" He said.
I nodded.
"This way..." He led my round the back of the stage, past metal cases, stage props, microphones, pieces of drum kit. To a large black case with 'MIW' printed on the front.
He let go of my hand and unclasped the clip holding the case shut.
The door swang open.
"Here's my new baby!" He said proudly.
He pulled out the case, a matt black guitar with 'Ricky' printed on the back in writing, that was in ' blood splatter' style.
"That's majorly cool" I said, impressed.
"You wanna hold it?" He asked,
"Yes, Yes, Yes!" I replied with an air of excitement in my voice.

He placed the strap over my shoulder, placed my hands in the correct positions on the guitar. Then started going on about chords, notes or something. But to be quite honest with you, I totally blanked out. I got lost in his eyes, they were so beautiful. I couldn't help but stare. He was mesmerising. I knew then, in that moment. I was in love. Not just 'fan girl in love' but seriously and truly.
He looked up at me.
"Thank you so much for this, I really mean it" I told him.
"It's alright, don't mention it. I'm glad to show you."
He helped me take the guitar off, and placed it carefully back into it's case.
He fastened the clasps and turned to face me.

"So Alayia, tell me about your self." He asked, genuinely interested.
"Well, I'm 19. I'm from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. I love music, it's my passion actually. Although I'm being forced into dentistry by my parents. They're both dentists too you see? Ummm..." I tried to think of something else to say...
"Wow, you come from a privileged back ground?" He asked.
"I guess, but they're so formal and posh. They totally disapprove of my taste in music and fashion." I said , I frowned, remembering the pain of the many arguments, I got put through- just for being me, and individual,
"Don't let it get to you hun, I think your perfect. Don't you dare change for anybody." He said, comforting me.
"I know but it's hard being different, I come from a family of well mannered goody-two shoes. Then there's me, I don't fit in. It hard. It rips me and my parents apart."
A tear rolled down my cheek. I looked away, embarrassed at the state I had got myself into.
He took his hand and softly wiped the tear away from my face then took his hand and gently pulled my chin into his.

He kissed me.
