I slowly opened my eyes and awoke in the middle of the streets. I was In a neighborhood I've never seen before at the dead of night. I stood up checking to see if anybody was near by me. I looked and not a single body in sight. Looking around I knew that for the most part I was in a suburban like neighborhood. I don't really live anywhere close to a place like this as far as I can remember. Where the hell was I exactly? I can't remember the last thing that even happened to me before waking up. In fact...I can't remember much at all. Not a single idea could pop up in my head. Whether it would make sense or not, my mind was blank. All I knew or could even think about right now was getting out of here.

I tried to walk down the block in hopes of finding anything, but I notice something odd. I noticed that all of these house look the exactly same. A regular two floor house with a small drive way and garage, with a clean freshly cut lawn, and not a single light was on in all 5 of their windows. Each house was no different from the last. Is this how it normally is for a neighborhood like this? Hell, not even a single car was parked anywhere around me either. Along with not even a single bit of noise of them being driven in the distance. The only noise to be heard right now was the sounds of my own breathing. I wasn't sure where I was or what to do, but I felt horribly uncomfortable and knew I had to leave as quickly as possible.

I walked around the empty streets and not much looks any different from the pervious block. Examining each house I pass by and still not single one of them had their lights on at the very least. My breathing and footsteps are the only thing that prove I can still hear things. I wanted to call out and see if anyone was around me, but would anyone even hear me? I'm not exactly sure why, but its just that deep down inside I knew something was wrong. Was anyone even living here anymore...? Though my next best bet was to just go and knock on the door of any of these house.

So with the closest house to me, I walked up to the front door and causally knocked. I gave it a few seconds before knocking again. I examined the door and found a doorbell. I pressed the doorbell but there was no noise at all. After pressing it a few times It seemed like the doorbell wasn't even working. So for one last time I knocked again but with more strength so that they would have to hear me. Unfortunately, there was no answer to be had. So I went to the window and tried looking in to see if I could find anything inside. I peeped in but it was blocked by curtains. Not even a single sliver of what could be inside was to be seen. I wasn't going to break in either cause the last thing I would want is any trouble. Although if things seem dire and I have no choice then maybe that would have to be my only other option? No no no, there has to be somebody around here.

Before I went back to roaming the streets I looked at the house again. I was hoping to see if any of the lights were turned on inside. Sadly, they were still turned off. I wasn't sure what was going on with this house but it really bugged the hell outta me. Either no one was home or I was simply just being ignored. This made me question again if anybody was even living here to begin with. I figured that I was just unlucky and maybe no one was even home. So I checked the next house. It was the exact same result. Disgruntled, I headed back and continued walking on the streets. There has to be someone out here, insider or not it couldn't possibly be deserted, right?

I walked and I walked. In what seemed like hours on these streets, not single thing was any different then right when I woke up. Though despite everything I felt nothing at all. I mean I didn't feel any bit of hunger or tiredness so far. Hell, even my feet didn't ack at all from the amount of walking I've been doing to my surprise. I tried to check my pocket to see if anything was inside but of course I didn't find anything. Even walking the streets, I couldn't find a single thing laying out in the open. On the lawns, it's just clean cut grass with no toys, no dog house, and of course even a stupid gnome to help differentiate itself form the others. Even on the concrete streets it was all clean and fine. I couldn't even find a single crack, dent, or an uneven bump. So here I am with no phone, no wallet, no keys, NOTHING! All I see and find around me are just the same empty house for blocks on end. It didn't really dawn on me that I've been practically going nowhere this whole time. Was I even making any progress!? Where the hell am I even going!? I grew more and more frustrated with each question popping into my head. I had to take a breather.
