The Student

She only got a couple hours of sleep before her alarm started ringing to get up for work. Her sleep schedule was a little messed up because of her night patrol. It sure was a bit difficult to maintain a day job and work at night. Red let out a sigh as she got herself out of bed. It isn't that the sleep schedule was hard on her per say.. but she wasn't getting any younger. Remembering the events of last night Red grabbed her cellphone off her bedside table and dialed a number. As it was ringing Red put the basics of her costume on. Her top, bottoms, and skirt of her uniform she always tries to wear under her usual clothing. As Red was going through her closet there was a "Hello?" from the other end of the line. "It's me." she replied to him as she pulled her white, lace, long-sleeve blouse of it's hanger.

"If you are calling me it must be something important." Said the voice on the other line. "I really wish you would call me just to say hello sometimes."

"The less contact we have the better it will be for you." Red replied with a small sigh. "Anyway I need you to check on something for me."

"Yeah yeah.. I know. What do you need?" The voice said with a slight gruff. He sounded a little disappointed.

"I saw Comatose last night." She didn't want to waste any time beating around the bush. She needed to give the info and get to work.

"What? Aren't you in Japan?" He sounded genuinely confused. So he must not know if he's still in America or not.

"Yes. So I need you to look into this. Find out if he's still in America. If he's not and you can't find out why that would also be great." She didn't have high expectations for finding a 'why' but it didn't hurt to try.

"Yeah don't get your hopes up for that one, but I'll look into it." Even though he couldn't see Red she nodded anyway. "You have this knack for not saying anything even when you should be." Red let out a sigh and apologized. She was use to not verbally replying when it came to her vigilante work.

"Please get back to me quickly. I have very little doubt that it's him, but just try to confirm it for me." Red grabbed a skirt out of her closet as well and took it off the hanger while she spoke. "Either way he knows who I am and that I'm here. So in the end it really doesn't matter. Just try to get me what you can."

"He knows you're there?" He let out an exasperated sigh. "You really should be more careful. For someone who claims to treasure secrecy you aren't very stealthy."

"Yeah yeah.. I understand." Red paused for a moment before speaking again. "Thank you for your help. I'll owe you one."

"No you won't. I owe you more." Was his last reply before their goodbyes. She would wait for his return call with any other information he could get.

After Red hung up she looked at the blouse and skirt she picked out for the day. She tended to wear things that were a bit more Victorian era. She had a white ruffle blouse that had sleeves long enough to cover all her scars. Along with an ankle length full skirt. That way it would be long enough to cover the scars on her legs as well as her vigilante uniform underneath. She always kept her blouse tucked into her skirt and would sometimes pair it with a jacket. But seeing as she lived right above the cafe that wasn't usually necessary. She would, however, put on an apron once she got into the cafe to help keep her clothing clean.

She opened the shop as usual. She would just have to lay low until she could get more information. What was Comatose doing here? Was he trying to expand to Japan? If that was the case she would need to put a stop to it before it got to big. His thugs were barely being contained in America. With how turbulent Japan currently was he may be able to find followers more easily here. Though Comatose didn't have complete control of America. If he were to grow his numbers in other countries he might be able to weasel his way into somewhere even more prominent. He claims to want reform, but he's just a mad man who craves power.
