Why Did He Text Me?

I went off of the app for the night. I was still thinking about him (since it just happened.)

The next day, I went to click on my messages. I saw Luis had texted me today saying, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you mad and I really want to get to know you. I broke up with my boyfriend. You don't have to talk to me if you don't want to." I gave him my Snapchat username and he added me.

He added me while I was live-streaming. I added him back and he sent me a snap of him in the mirror shirtless saying "I'm Luis." When I got the snap I was honestly surprised by the fact that he sent that as the first picture, especially since I could've given him the wrong snapchat username or I could've been a weirdo or something. But I mean I liked it.

I responded by sending him a picture of half my face and said "Hi my name is Elijah." We then started regular texting on Snapchat. I asked him about his boyfriend (or ex-boyfriend) and why they broke up. I told him that I hoped it wasn't because of me. Luis said, "I found out that he was cheating on me with a girl so I broke up with him."

After this we just called and talked. He had a nice voice and I liked how he could also speak Spanish. (Guys that speak other languages have my heart.) I asked him why he wants to talk to me. He said that I "looked like someone who has a kind heart and (that he) would want to get to know better." At this point I was starting to blush but not really show it because he did flirt with me while he was with his ex. That was another thing I asked him about. "Why were you flirting with me?" His response was "I have a flirty personality. That is one way people would describe me. I don't really try to but it just happens. But, I mean, I do usually flirt with people I find attractive."

So what he was saying was he was attracted to me. I knew it was probably wrong to continue talking to him especially after he just broke up with his ex and told me that he is a very flirty guy. I didn't care though. I wasn't fully attracted to him but I thought he was cute. We kept talking and I found out some stuff about him. He lives in Chicago, IL, he is into magic, listens to classical music, and works out. He asked me to tell him about myself so I told him how I like to write stories, I was going into my 10th grade year, and I like science fiction shows. He told me he was going into 10th grade also.

I didn't think this call would go anywhere until we called the next day.
