Wolves Know Best

  Around two or three in the morning I gave up sleep, and decided to just make sure everything was in place and ready for us to leave. I also typed notes on my  laptop about the meeting I was going to be having with this pack about their Alpha situation, I will need to interrogate the Beta to make sure what happened won't happen again. If I think for any reason he isn't fit to lead this pack then it means our packs will converge for a, hopefully, temporary time until the king decides what's best. This is such a pain, I look down to the bottom of the screen for the time 5:30 AM great I still have an hour maybe an hour and a half until the meeting. Just as I lean back into the chair I hear my door open softly. It alarms me so I pop back up so my back is straight and can see the intruder, low and behold it's my tiny dark haired mate sliding silently though the door. I watch her with a predatory like gaze. I guess she felt my stare because she franticly looks around the room until she sees me, her face tinges red since she was caught seeking into my room.

   "What do you need little one?" I ask her curiously as to why she came in here which seem to embarrass her more. We like seeing her flustered especially my wolf. I can see her thinking about what she is going to say next and that she is unsure of her answer.

  She mumbles out a "my wolf missed you" which of course makes my wolf excited In many ways. I mentally roll my eyes at her since she looks ridiculous wagging her tail like she's trying to fly off, and no one but I can see her do this. Ignoring my wolf I take in my mates appearance continuing to note how dainty she is, but I quickly notice what she is wearing. A large t-shirt that I recognize, it is one of mine, it reaches just above her knees. I don't even feel that my wolf is quickly taking over till it's too late. She stands us up and walks slowly and dangerously toward our mate growling lowly, but not in a threatening way. It the dawns on my mate what's happening, and she gives us this innocent look that makes my wolf want her more. We gently lift her off the floor bridal style and lay her on the bed and curl up around her while burring our face into her hair breathing in her scent. This allows my wolf to calm down enough for me to take back the control and I hug her closer into my large body and let out a heavy sigh. She is a little tense probably confused as to why I didn't do more than this, honestly it confused me too but I'm not complaining about it. Then she starts squirming around a little, and once as her back is against my chest she becomes still and relaxes into me. I wrap my arms completely around her so that I feel she is safe, and I begin to doze off.

   She is so warm, and smells so good. My wolf states and honestly I agree with her, it's making us sleepier. I finally give in, I already have an alarm set so I can sleep for an hour with her. The last thing I hear before drifting off is her breathing deeply, I guess she fell asleep as well.

    I jolted awake at the sound of my alarm going off. I turn it off and look at the small woman in my arms whom is still sound asleep, I just admire her for a few moments before slipping my arm out from under her and getting ready for the meeting. Before I slip out I look at her one more time, and head to my meeting with my laptop under my arm.

   That ridiculous meeting went on forever, I did interrogate the Beta and truthfully he's an idiot. Although he is better than my uncle so he will become Alpha once I leave. I gave him my office number in case he needs help with anything, I think he will be calling quite often but then again you never know. I look down at my watch 8:00 AM that meeting was an hour and a half long. I rush back to my room because we need to leave rather soon, and also I wanted to see her. Once I reach the room and throw the door open she had already left, hopefully to go pack, I'm a little disappointed that she wasn't here but it is fine. Grabbing my bags, I head to the room I was originally staying in to make sure I have everything, I did leave a few things in there before I left last night but I quickly snatch them up and stuff them into my bag. A whiff of something good hit my nose and it made my stomach growl, so of course I follow it. The smell lead me into the kitchen, big surprise there I know. Keir was in there as well as my father, they were talking to my mate who was cooking something tasty. It didn't take them long to notice me in there.

   "Good morning you big softy" Keir was the  first one to speak up. I quickly make eye contact with him, and gave him a confused look. He smirked and confidently told me "Miss Reyna here told us what happened early this morning." I calmly look at her, she automatically becomes red and avoids eye contact with me.

   "Is that so" I speak aloud still looking at her tiny frame. All that was heard was my brother and father's laughing. "Reyna.." I say testing it on my tongue, it causes her to look up at me and her redness deepens. I wasn't able to help myself I laugh softly at her reaction. "It definitely suits you" I tell her then look at my family thinking about what we should do first, but my stomach growls answering it for me. Sitting next to my brother, Reyna goes back to cooking, I take a strong sniff to figure out what she is making. It smells like bacon and either pancakes or waffles, I get the two scents mixed up all the time, I also smell eggs. Finally she sets down four plates full of food, and I waste no time I  quickly began eating.  I once again look down at my watch 9:00 AM we need to leave in 30 minutes. I grab our empty plates and set them into the sink.

  I look at my mate and ask "have you packed your bags?" She looks up at me and reluctantly nods "that's good, go grab your bags and I'll pack the car" I announce and then look at everyone insinuating I'm not solely speaking to her. The boys nod to me and leave to collect their things, Reyna and I walk together up the stairs to grab our bags. Her bag is rather small but I say nothing of it, I can always buy her new things.

After I get everything packed we set off for home the boys decided to sit in the back together, probably Reyna can sit next to me since I'm driving. Once we hit the halfway mark I can hear our father snoring and it makes her giggle a little. Looking in the rearview mirror at them father has his head leaned back with his mouth open and Keir has his head on our dads shoulders asleep as well. I just roll my eyes at them, and glance at my mate only to find her already staring at me; which makes me blush a little.

"Why are you staring at me little one?" I question her. She just shrugs and continues to stare making me a little uncomfortable. "Do you need to tell me something, or have anything to say in general?" I continue to question her.

"My wolf likes you and says I need to give you a chance. I'm not really sure on it, but she is always right so I'm going to see how it goes." She finally let's out her thoughts, unsure as to what to say about it I just nod and keep my gaze on the road ahead. My wolf seems a little cautious about it as well, but is also happy that she hasn't rejected us thus far.
