6 months later

Kian's POV

"Is she here already?" I query as I hurriedly put on my overcoat and walk out of the room with Archie following me.

"Yes, king. They just arrived." The guard says and we make our way to the palace gates.

Reaching there, I watch Jane and her son, who's wobbling, as they enter the palace. A smile appears on my face after seeing them. Even if we weren't that close, she's still my cousin from the very beginning. And after the incident happened, we became good friends. So, seeing her after so long is making me happy.

"Welcome to our kingdom, Jane. It's been a long time, how are you?" I greet her with a smile while my parents and Archie with Gia, stand beside me.

"I'm fine, Kian. Good to see you again." She says happily before turning to others and greeting them.

Nodding at her, I lead her inside and to living chamber. We all get seated and the maids bring tea and snacks for the guests.

After finding Archie and few days after Gia birthday celebrations, I have sent a letter to Jane informing her that I found Archie and brought him back to the kingdom. Because she was worried about Archie and she felt she was the reason as why Archie left me. And that it was her mistake for agreeing to the marriage which made Archie to go away from us. I felt she needed to know that Archie is back.

In the letter, I also mentioned about Gia, I tried my best to explain her about Archie's pregnancy. She then sent a reply letter to me where she said she's happy that I found Archie and my daughter. She didn't say or ask anything about Archie being the mother of Gia. Maybe she thought she shouldn't ask about it in the letter and instead to talk in person or she might have thought its not her place to question us about those things. Regardless of the reason, she didn't bring that up in the letter.

She also requested if she could pay us a visit and that she would like to see Archie and Gia. She mentioned she wants to apologise for causing separation in our lives even if it had happened without her proper knowledge. I agreed to her and sent another letter telling her she can visit us any time she want. And that's how she's here now.

"How have you been, Jane?" My mother asks as she helps Gia to eat the fruits which the maids have prepared.

"I'm fine, aunt. How are you?" She replies.

"We're good, now that Gia is here. These past few months have been spent greatly and I'm happy with my granddaughter." Mother states while staring lovingly at Gia.

As much as I can't forget her wrong decisions, she's completely changed now. She takes care of Archie and Gia very well. She's treating Archie just like how she treats me. Now, to her I'm not only the son, Archie is also her son.

"That's great to hear." Jane says and turns to Archie who has his eyes focused on his intertwined fingers, "Archie!"

He jolts a little when suddenly his name gets being called and looks up at me confused. I frown seeing the concerned gaze in his eyes. Not just today, he has been kinda off and seems like he's in a daze for the past few days. I observed but I didn't ask him because I thought he would let it out by himself. But till now he hasn't told a single word and today, he has become more down and lost. When we go back to our room, I'll ask him what's bothering him.

With that thought, I tell him it's not me who called him but Jane, "she's calling you."

Still confused, he follows my stare and looks at Jane. He watches her like a scared puppy. Seeing him distract, I move close to him and hold his hands in mine in assurance. His hands feel cold in mine which never happened before because he always feels warm. Is he not well? Why does he feel so cool?
