My breath caught in my throat, heart thudding rapidly. I couldn't believe what Dr. Warren was saying, it seemed dreadful.
"The Regular's are coming!" He shrieked. " Go tell John Hancock and Samuel Adams!"
I looked around the crowed shack and saw William Dawes. His face consorted into a mixture of shock and worry, just as mine.
" Set up a signal! Have two lanterns hang in the bell-tower in the Christ Church in Boston if the Regulars come by sea. If not one lantern if they come by land." I demanded to no one in particular. Soon we had a signal. I then grabed myself a lantern and left the small shack. Having been rowed here I set off on my mates' horse (Deacon Larkin). We sped along the dirt road heading to Lexington, Massachusetts. Adrenaline rushed through me; All my senses coming to life. I heard the horses hoofs clicking on the stones, the wind in my brown messy hair, and most of all of my suroundings. My eyes focused on everything, if that was possible. Soon we slowed our horses and Williams' horse fell into step with mine. Deciding it was a good idea, I stopped at every house on the way and alarmed the country side.
