IF I WERE A CHILD

Some words seem useless
If I were a child,I could tell mom to console me
If I were that little child,
I could tell dad to take me on his arms and
Pat me
So this cruel world can't touch me,
can't reach me
I'm now a believer and
Have become someone I wanna be
But one night an owl asked me,
is it all you wanted?
I was stubborn
Like I never knew how to talk.
I've left me far behind for the me I'm now
So,I tempt wishing to God,
Can't I be given one more chance?
There's no reply
I again wish,
If I were a child again!
Can't a written book be written again?
If I were a little schoolgirl again!
I wouldn't be standoffish
I would play playfully and a little carelessly.
How it would be if I were a princess!
I'm sure the crown would be heavy
But I could carry.
IF I could let my bound heart reach and fly
Under the shimmering stars canopy
To the unbound moor.
If the night could appear
I'll waste seeing the same stars.
And again,
If I were a newborn and
could start from the first.
