There!
I ran to the front deck of the ship.
"Hey! Don't go running there!"
The ship captain shouted at me but I ignore. I couldn't control my excitement, I ran to the very peak of the ship and stood behind the metal railing with my hands gripped on the metal bar.
There it was! At far north across the rough waves and cloudy sky, I saw the mountainous land which was our destination.
"There it is..." I mumbled as the strong wind breezed over my long orange-color hair.
Within the land is where Samberg was, one of the hidden cities that exist in the west country; the birthplace of the title Knights and Paladins, and one of the cities of the west that still hold strong to its religion for many years until today.
However, my interest was far beyond that.
What I aimed for was not the good titles and shinning armor but the dark and evil part of life in this world where no sane human would dare to seek.
What I seek for was,
"...Demons, Samberg... the land where demons exist." I said unconsciously.
I traveled far from my homeland and finally reach this far, sailing here was no easy task where the ship had to pass through rough weather and tides but in the end, we arrived at the nearest dock, safe and sound.
After the dock, I went to my small room to prepare; all my belongings packed into my fat traveling bag, putting on my brown leather gloves and leather belt with back pouches, and lastly, I put on my flat brown cap with my orange-color hair tucked in so it doesn't get in the way during walking.
I looked around to my room to check if I was missing something and luckily, I did, on the study desk was my journal and pen which was something I couldn't leave without.
I held it with both hands, my thumb rubbed on its rough leather surface. I noticed there were some torn parts at the edges of the leather cover which show its age, but regardless it still managed to protect everything inside with its belt seal.
"You're all packed up?" a man said.
I quickly turned around and at the entrance was the bearded bald captain of the ship who shouted at me earlier.
"Yes." I answered to him behind putting away my journal, slipped it into my belt's book holster, then added with a shown smile, "I'm all set to go inland."
"Good."
"But uh- I know it's late to say this..." The Captain said while he rubbing his head showing an unsure look which made me curious about what he was about to say.
"There are old tales told about this city... but there aren't new ones told during these days."
I waved my hand to the captain and showed him a big smile to ease up his worries, "Don't worry about it, I can handle things myself just fine." I said with a positive tone.
"For someone young to be traveling into unknown lands, you sure don't show any concern of the dangers you might face." The captain pointed out.
He sure was worried but I can't blame him to have the concerns over me.
I looked at him once more, lifted up my chest with my hands placed on my waist, then a big smile to show my confidence to him.
"Don't worry Uncle Reeve!" I said with full a positive tone.
"I'm Stella J. Augustus, the daughter of the greatest journalist in the world!"
"I'm already all grown up and not the same crying baby years ago! So..."
"Nothing can stop me from writing my story!" I said before ending with a big happy grin.
Yes,
This is a story of my travel to the west.
The story of where I met the Crying Demon.
