That night I lay face up on my bed staring at the ceiling with blood shot eyes from hours of crying , I have been cursed and severely beaten by my father for being seen outside speaking with a guy, feeling humiliated and abused I seek closure in my  thoughts thinking of how I will run away from the house and my toxic parents unknown to me I dozed off only to be woken up by my mum at 6:00 for morning devotion , we usually had our morning prayers at the dinning table which started with an opening prayer and worship song , I couldn't concentrate on the bible study due to the fact that my mum kept on stealing glances at me and shaking her legs vigorously which means I was in for another trouble. by the time we said closing prayer and my two older brothers and my dad stood up and left the dinning ,I was about to follow suit when I heard a stern voice asking why I was still on my yesterdays outfit ,then it dawned on me that I had forgotten to have my bath and brush my teeth before going to bed , in my home growing up as a child and now in my teenage age it was mandatory to take a shower and night brushing before going to bed ,well it wasn't my fault I thought to myself soberly due to last night incident , I forgot to have my bath last night ma, I blurted, after 3 minutes of my mum staring at me, she left the dinning table it was a Tuesday morning and as usual everybody went about their chores as fast as they could to meet up with work and get to school on time , I swept the 3 rooms and the sitting room before getting ready for school, I got to school by 7:30 without having breakfast that morning , I seemed to be keeping malice with my family members which wasn't a new thing as it has been my culture whenever i was rebuked.
