"Elio you better not be on your computer, young man."

A small groan escapes the boys lips as his typing ceased. He knew he shouldn't have been on his computer but he was close. Way to close to quit now. If he was forced to sleep now then he'd have to basically start from scratch.

The door to his small room opens and in walks his caregiver, Charlie Ridgeway. She had been taking care of the sleep deprived teenager since he was six. A small series of events lead to an adoption and they've been the weirdest of families ever since. "Elio." She scolds, "You need to sleep. Do I need to take you to the hospital again?"

"No!" He yells out, flailing his harms around a little as he continues, "I will go to sleep just please don't make me go back there."

"I was joking little once." She tells him as she moves into his room and sits down gently on his bed, moving his computer chair so he's facing her, "I will never send you back there. Not after what those freaks did you too. But you need to get some sleep, Mr. Merryweather has called me too many times about you darling also in his class."

He nods and climbs onto the bed, Charlie not wanting to take any chances, grabs his computer and gently places a small kiss to his head before heading out the door. She had to work the late shift so he knew she wouldn't be home til later the next day. He groans at her actions and finds himself laying back on his bed, staring at the plastic stars plaster all over his bedroom ceiling.

Sleep was calling out to him but he couldn't sleep. All those night of forcing himself to stay awake took its toll on him. Once Charlie is completely out of the building, Elio grabs his notebook and climbs out on to the fire escape making his way to his spot on the roof. Sometimes when he'd hit a road block he'd come up to the roof and write down different sets of codes for algorithms that would pop into his head.

Rubbing his wrists through the elbow length sleeves that he made, he opens up his notebook and begins to write. After hours of writing code, he found his body beginning to slowly fall forwards. Before he could comprehend what was happening, he was pulled from the edge of the building, dropping his notebook and pen in the process, and on to the roof. The sudden jolt of adrenaline allows him to focus on the person in front of him, "Jesus, you got a death wish?"

"No...I..." Elio's eyebrows knitted together as he tried to think. " I couldn't sleep... So I came up here to write."

Elio looks up at the guy who pulled him from the edge and finds himself looking at the vigilante know as Red Hood. Why was he even in this part of town? Didn't he stay close to crime alley? "Mr. Red...Hood."

"Go to bed." That was all he seemed to say before he jumped off the roof, using his grappling hook to swing to another building. Blinking, Elio couldn't believe he had seen Red Hood and was going to live to talk about it.

Grabbing his notebook, the teen makes his way into his apartment complex and finds himself on his bed. Laying down, he finds himself starting to drift. Leaving the world of people and codes behind, falling deeper and deeper into a restless dream. One where everything fell into place and nothing could ever harm him again.
