THALIA

"Thalia Grace to the main office. Thalia Grace to the main office." the loud speaker echoed through the halls and classrooms of Half-Blood high.
Thalia groaned at her name over the loud speaker. She was trying to think of what she did this time.
Mrs. Dodds, the math teacher gave Thalia a death glare.
"Well I guess you must get going Miss Grace." she said in a scratchy, irritated voice.
Thalia gave her a sarcastic smile, "Yup. Goodbye Mrs. Dodds." she said sauntering out of the room.
Through out her walk to the main office, Thalia thought long and hard about why she'd be in trouble (that was after all the only reason she was ever called down to the office). Nothing crossed her mind, she'd been trying to be less violent the past couple weeks after Principal Dionysus threatened to expel her from school if she did anything out of line again. Oh gods, she could not be expelled, school was the best thing she had right now. Thalia's life was rather messed up, her parents had gotten divorced a few years after having her younger brother Jason. She didn't really care though, her dad was never around and didn't really love her and her mom was an alcoholic. If she was expelled from school she'd have to live with her detached dad (her mom died some years ago in a car crash, not that she really cared).
Before she knew it, Thalia was standing in front of the heavy oak door that lead to the main office. Pushing a gulp down her throat, Thalia opened the door and walked into the office with her head held high.
In the main office she was surprised to see not only Principal Dionysus (wearing an atrocious leopard print shirt) but also the activities director and foreign language teacher, Mr. Brunner. Mr. Brunner was Thalia's favorite teacher, he was pretty chill and didn't hate the students.
"Hello Taylor." Principal Dionysus said to Thalia and took a sip of Diet Coke.
"It's Thalia." she replied, crossing her arms.
"Whatever." he said, waving his hand in dismissal.
Mr.Brunner cleared his throat, "Could you please take a seat Thalia?" He said pointing to a chair in front of his and Dionysus'.
Thalia obeyed and sat down, waiting for the adults to say more.
After some silence Thalia spoke up, "Am I in trouble?" She asked nervously
"Oh no, nothing like that." Mr.Brunner reassured her.
"Then why am I here?"
"Your getting a roommate, Miss Faith." Dionysus said rather bored.
"I'm what?!" Thalia said enraged as she jumped up and slammed her hands on the table in front of her. She was so mad she didn't even catch that Dionysus messed her name up. Again.
"Thalia please settle down." Mr. Brunner said patiently.
"I will not calm down! I was promised a room of solitude!"
"Yea, well tough luck kid. Your the only person with room available for another student." Dionysus said
"Mr. Brunner please, can you find another person?" Thalia begged.
Mr. Brunner looked at Thalia with sympathy, "I'm sorry, but no the decision is final."
"Ugh! This so isn't fair!" Thalia stormed on.
"Thalia please." Mr. Brunner looked at the rampaging teenager.
She angrily sighed, "Yes?"
"Listen , your roommate is coming in tonight around six. We have given you the rest of the day off to prepare your dorm for her. Your brother Jason has offered to give you your missed notes when classes have ended."
"Okay." she huffed.
"Thank you." Mr. Brunner smiled.
"Yes, thank you Tara." Dionysus said, now playing a game on his phone.
"Can I at least know her name and grade." Thalia asked already exhausted at the idea of a roommate.
Mr. Brunner looked at her with a spark of mischief in his eyes, as if he knew something she didn't, "Well your roommate has requested me to not inform you on her name, but she's a junior, only one year younger than you."
Thalia breathed a sigh of relief, "Good, I'm not stuck with some ninth grader."
"Alright I think we are done with this discussion then." Mr Brunner said
Thalia nodded and started to walk towards the door. "Goodbye Mr.Brunner. Goodbye Principal Dionysus." Thalia said.
"Oh and Thalia." Mr. Brunner said just as Thalia was slipping out the door.
"Yes?"
"Remember to use this time wisely, if we find you messing around there will be consequences." He said with warning in his voice.
"I understand."
Thalia started walking towards her dorm once she was out of the main office. When she thought about it the dorms were more like mini apartments. They had two separate bedrooms, a small kitchen and work area, and a bathroom. Needless to say it was expensive to go to Half-Blood High, most people were here on some type of scholarship, but not Thalia. No on top of other things, her dad Zeus was owner of the biggest airline used worldwide called Lightning Bolt Airlines. Thalia wondered who would be her new roommate.
After five minutes of walking Thalia made it to her dorm and entered the code on a keypad to unlock the door. Half-Blood high had done away with key locks on doors as they were too easy to pick, so now each room had a keypad with a code to unlock the door. The keypads were actually designed by some of the students, Leo Valdez and Tyson, Thalia's cousin.
She opened her door and saw the mess of her room. Posters of bands such as The Ramones and Green Day littered the walls and clothes were strewn all over the floor. Thalia had her work cut out for her to make the dorm presentable for her roommate.

ANNABETH

Annabeth was giddy with glee. Last month she had been offered a half scholarship to Half-Blood High, a renounced school and more importantly the school her best friend goes to and tonight was going to be her first night there.
Annabeth had requested to room with Thalia Grace, but made sure Thalia wouldn't know she'd be coming.
Annabeth was in the car with her dad, Frederick when she saw the school coming into view. It was designed in an Ancient Greek way and was absolutely beautiful, breath taking even.
Her father smiled to her. "Ready?" He asked.
Annabeth smiled a huge grin that reached her calculating grey eyes. "More than ever!"
He parked the car and they both got out. Annabeth's dad got her bags out from the trunk and they walked towards the school.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Annabeth gave her dad a hug goodbye. It was a little awkward as she was a few inches taller than the short man, but it was the last hug for a while.
Principal Dionysus gave Annabeth her code to the room and off she went.
It took a while for Annabeth to find her room, the school was full of twists and turns, but when she did pure excitement ran through her veins.
Once she entered the room she saw a familiar figure and spiky black hair bobbing to the beat of a song. Thalia hadn't heard Annabeth come in (most likely because her music was at a deafening volume) and her eyes were closed so when Annabeth tapped her in the shoulder, she was startled to say the least.
"What the-" Thalia began shouting
"No swearing Thalia." Annabeth stared at her friend with her best "disapproving teacher" look.
It took a fraction of a second for Thalia to register that her best friend Annabeth was her new roommate.
"Annie!" Thalia jumped up and encased Annabeth in a bone crushing hug.
"Hey Thals." Annabeth said grinning.
"I can't believe your my new roommate!" Thalia said releasing her form the hug.
"I had it specially requested." Annabeth shrugged.
"You know I was pretty pissed when I found out I was getting a roommate, but now this is great!"
"Well I'm glad that you're happy in here. This place is amazing! I mean the dorms are huge!" Annabeth said smiling even more (if that was possible).
"How did you get in?" Thalia asked
"Well they had noticed my 'high intellectual level' and believed this would be the best place for me to 'nourish my academics'."
"So your here because your smart?"
"Basically." Annabeth laughed.
"That's amazing!" Thalia laughed too
"I know and I'm on half scholarship. Not only that, but my mom is paying for some of it, I think it's her way to show she cares." Like Thalia, Annabeth's parents were divorced and her mom Athena was not a very warm or loving person so for her to pay for the school tuition was a big thing.
"Alright well you better unpack quick, I need to introduce you to my friends." Thalia told Annabeth.
"Alright."
The next hour was spent with Annabeth settling into her new home and Thalia calling a bunch of different people to organize a group hang out in the game room.
