As we entered the class, there was no one there. Now, I know for sure that something big is up, and I have a feeling that it's not going to be good.
...
Sometimes things come out to be unexpected. For example, in life we think that we have a later, but we don't. Of course, most of us do, but not all. Take my uncle for example, he is now in a hospital bed due to terrible people. Yeah, my uncle, who was just minutes ago with me, got shot. By who? I don't know. Will I ever find out? Yes, I will. I don't care who I face, I will find out who did this, and when I do, they will regret ever messing with a Knight.
...
As I was walking to the receptionist at the hospital I noticed many newspaper reporters. Most likely already knowing about the shooting. Why can't people mind their own business?
"Could I see John Crawl?" I asked the receptionist.
"Sorry, I can't let you see him unless your family."
"I am his niece," I told her. "Now can I see him?"
"Sorry about that, but yes, you may go see him," she said."He is in room 156."
"Thank you."
As soon as she told me the room number, I left running. As I was making my way there, I was fortunate enough to meet Adrian. Isn't that great!?
"I heard about your uncle," Adrian said worriedly. "Are you ok?"
"Why do you care?"
"I know I seemed rude earlier, but I'm serious about this."
"Yeah sure, all you care about is yourself," I said." Now, I have to go and see how my uncle is doing." Who does he think he is, going around and changing his attitude. Seriously, an hour ago he was the most arrogant person, and one hour later he is as nice as he can be.
I made my way to the room, but something stopped me. I can't go in there, I can't face him knowing that he is most likely there because of me. I don't know for sure if what I think is true, but I know I can't face him if I am the reason he got hurt. As I was about to leave the door opened.
"Aria," my uncle called. "I'm glad you're here. Come in." Isn't this great. Why does it always happen to me? I do want to see him, but I can't see him laying in a hospital bed knowing its most likely my fault. Thinking about it, it is my fault, because if I would have never talked back to those bullies, then my uncle would have stayed where he was, safe in his office dealing with other students, but of course, life sucks.
"Hey, I am so sorry this happened to you. This is all my fault," I said while entering the room.
"Aria, it's not your fault, we don't know who did it, it could have been someone who wanted money."
"No, it wasn't, and you know it."
"It was supposed to happen one day either way, don't you remember the letter? I was already expecting something like this to happen. Their main goal was to get your parents, but now their plan has changed, so be careful, we don't know what their next move is. For all we know, they could go to you, or someone close to you," My uncle said. The only reason my uncle knows all of this is because he is my trainer and mentor and was there when they killed my parents.
"I do remember the letter, but still I can't stay still while knowing that the next person is someone I care for."
"I know Aria, just promise me that you won't do anything reckless, and don't you dare go back to fighting, without me there."
" I can't promise that, but I'll try."
"Go back to fighting?!" Adrian exclaimed.
"What the hell are you doing here listening to our conversation?" I angrily stated.
"I should be the one asking questions here," Adrian stated." Like who is they, and whats the letter, and you fight?"
"First of all, you shouldn't have interrupted us, and that is none of your business."
"Aria this is great!" My uncle said randomly.
"What is great?" Both Adrian and I asked at the same time.
"I know you well enough, and I know you will keep fighting no matter what I say, so Adrian could go with you to your fights."
"Yeah, that is not happening. Have you seen him? He can't do anything, probably doesn't even know how to fight," I said. "And you want him to go with me?"
"For your information Aria, I can fight," Adrian said.
"This is even better if he can fight he could help you fight the others, and you could be safe," My Uncle stated.
"I can protect myself, and you know that. I have protected myself since I was little, and I am not going to let someone else get into this mess."
"Aria, I know that but if he can protect you it will make me feel much better knowing that you are protected, and they won't get to you."
"What makes you think I'm going to protect her?" Adrian asked.
"Well Adrian, it's not your choice, you chose to listen to our conversation and we can't let anyone find out. This is a perfect way to keep Aria safe and an eye on you." My uncle answered. "Now, no more talking, I need to rest."
"Bye Uncle, see you soon."
"By Mr.Crawl."
As we walked out of the room, I walked my own way and Adrian decided to follow me.
"So where are we going?" He asked.
"I'm going home, I don't know about you though."
" Your Uncle said that I need to protect you, so I might as well follow you home to make sure you're safe."
"I can protect myself, so go home." If this kid won't get this inside his head, I am going to kill him.
"I will go home, once I know you got home safe." Help me, someone, this is going to be a long walk home. Why do these things happen to me?
