Jessie's POV- Before the dinner party-

"Dad, I'm nervous" I said.

"Why jess?"

"Well number one, I don't want to go to a new school. I don't know anybody. And I don't want to be labeled as a spoiled rich girl."

"Jess, its better to not know anyone than to be ignored by the people who you thought you knew. And I promise you won't be labeled as a spoiled rich girl. But you should probably go get dressed. Look, your mom wants you to go be with her this year . I'll still see you every day off and the weekends. I told her about your condi-"

"Stop. Please don't talk about it." I ahted when he talked about it. It made me feel even worse.

"OK jess. But she wants you ready by the time she's here. I bought you a new dress. I know you'll like it. Alexis picked out the jewelry.

" I want to stay here with you and Alexis. She's an awesome step mom. I promise I'll never complain about schoo-" I couldn't finnish.

"Jess, be ready when your mom gets here. You know we both love you. But me, Alexis, and you know how powerful your mom is. Be ready. Enjoy school. And we love you."

With that my dad walked out the kitchen. Not much later Jessie i did too. I walked into my near-empty-ready-to-move room and looked at the dress hanging in my empty closet. And on I dresser was a bag full of accessories and makeup. I looked down and saw black heels. They were beautiful. I got dressed pretty quick. All black. Except my hair. Which was a mint green. I loved it. I heard a car door slam and my mom (the wicked witch of the west) come up in a business suit and knock. My dad answered the door.
