So much screaming, so much crying. I can't take it anymore. He's locked the door again. I throw my stuff into a bag, as much as I can fit. My phone, clothes, food, everything I can fit, money to. I grab a small prepaid phone and go into Joey's room. "Joey", I say quietly so he doesn't hear, "it's me." "Grey, what's going on I'm scared." Joey whimpers, crawling out from under her bed. I give her the phone, and say "Joey, just press this button if you need me and I'll always pick up." "Why? Where are you going?" Joey whispers "Don't worry about that, I'll be back soon," I say, not sure if I'm trying to convince her or myself. "I love you Joey" "I love you too Grey." I start to leave the room, but right before I shut the door I say "call me if you need anything, I love you" Then I shut the door. I creep down the stairs so he doesn't hear. Their in the living room. She's screaming, he's hitting her. I go out the kitchen door so he can't hear me. I sprint down the driveway, trying to leave before he sees me. I get into my car, and start it. I drive as fast as I can legally. There's a car trailing me. "shit' I scream! it's him. I drive faster, and faster. hoping to lose him. I get onto the highway and go off onto a smaller road. Thankfully, he doesn't see. I decide to wait for awhile just to make sure. There's a whole week of driving ahead of me, I might as well get some sleep
