Personally I love Winter Bear. It’s very emotional. When a song makes you feel, that is truly my criteria for an amazing song. Honestly when I hear it, I feel loneliness and longing. To me, I feel like he’s saying he longs to feel that comfort of being with someone he loves. That type of comfort you feel when you’re with someone you truly care for and cares for you. To be able to sleep like a winter bear when you’re with them and to watch them sleep that deeply and comfortably when they are with you.
Oddly enough the song kind of makes me sad. It’s beautifully written and executed. But there is a lingering sadness I feel when i hear it. I don’t know if Taehyung wrote these lyrics about a previous relationship, a current one, or one he dreams of having, but I feel like he is the type of person who craves being loved that way. Someone who feels like when they are with “that person”, everything is right with the world. Maybe someone who feels lonely when they’re not with that person or in a relationship. I know it might seem odd to say that someone surrounded by as many people as Taehyung is could be lonely, but that is a very real thing.
I certainly am not speaking for him though, as this is all just my opinion. Bottom line however, I loved Winter Bear and Taehyung continues to impress as an artist.
