It's been a few days since Lucy and Wendy have been kidnapped, and Erza couldn't sit around any longer. Mira had begged her and Gray not to run after them without Laxus being completely healed, but since Fairy Tail's own healer was no longer with them, their guildmaster's healing process had slowed down to a crawl.

"The only one that is capable of defeating the Salamander is Laxus." Mira pleaded. "We must save our chances of getting Lucy and Wendy out alive, and we don't want to risk anything. Once Laxus is healed, we will charge into their guild and attack. From there, you two and a group of others will be in charge of finding our guildmates and escaping."

Erza shook her head, dismayed. She heard these plans play from Mira's mouth countless of times, but she had still found no point in waiting. "But we don't know what the Dark Sparrows could be doing to them at this moment... They could be in deep trouble and calling for our help as we speak."

Gray was sitting right beside Erza in their guild's bar. He couldn't shake off this feeling of fear towards their safety as well. "Erza has a point, you know."

Yet again, Mira refused to give in. "We have Porlyusica healing our guildmaster, so Laxus will be healed soon. Right now, I need both of you here on guard in case the Dark Sparrows attack."

Gray huffed, but he didn't protest. The two of them had taken this time to research even harder about time traveling, now that it seemed Lucy and Wendy's lives were in danger. If only they could time travel to the past now to make things right, but they didn't want to do it without Lucy, in fear of the possibilities of what could happen without her being there. Also, they weren't sure if they needed the Natsu of this time period to go back with them as well, but they could only hope that wasn't the case. This Natsu was only bad news, and Gray had a feeling he wouldn't come with them without a fight.

So, the best option was to wait, and hope that Mira's plan would work.

Ruby twisted the doorknob to the basement cell, and she wasn't surprised to find it locked.

It has been locked from the entire guild for an entire week now, with only Natsu and Happy being the ones to enter and exit. The two of them would sneak down there early in the morning holding the prisoner's trays of food, and they wouldn't come out until hours later, which was only to bring the next food tray in.

Ruby originally didn't mind his side job at first, giving him the benefit of the doubt that being a guard keeper was just very time-consuming. But then, she was starting to realize how his behavior had begun to change. He became more outspoken on things he didn't agree with, which basically caused controversy with everything in the dark guild. If they had to kill someone, he would flat out disagree, or passive-aggressively express his opinion. She would sometimes hear him grumbling as he trudged out of Master's office after he was called in there to discuss his next plan of action for the war. And whenever they invited him on missions, he would dodge the invitation, claiming that he had guard duty to do.

Siren was already fed up with Natsu's current behavior, and she made her thoughts known every chance that she saw him. And Diesel... his mood dropped considerably due to Natsu's misbehavior, complaining that the dragon slayer had gone back to his "rebellious" teenage years.

But for Ruby... she knew exactly what was going on. Although she had never seen these fairy tail girls before, she could tell that Natsu and Happy had found a liking to them. The two of them enjoyed their presence.

But, that's where things go wrong. You can't make friends with the enemy.

Natsu was making a mistake, and Ruby was about to see all the consequences of him breaking this taboo.
