From inside the deceptively innocuous white walled cottage came the sounds of violent crashing and banging and the roars of some very upset people. What could have been a chair, or a small table crashed through one of the windows and landed in the garden, a mangled mass of splintered wood barely usable for anything else than kindling.
Now that the window had been shattered, the voices could be heard loud and clear. some one was shouting.
"How could you do this to us! We trusted you! My parents entrusted you with our security and safe return! You have betrayed us all!" Terey's furor had reached the self-fueling stage and Limero could only stay there and suffer the onslaught in silence.
Of course the boy was correct, he had hidden his motives and acted covertly in order to get the boys to the island on false pretense. Terrey's anger was fully understandable, what cause Limero's concerns was the silent seething rage of Farenn. Once Terrey had cooled down he would listen but Farenn's resentment could endure much longer. The monk stepped to the side as Terrey ripped one of the inner doors from its hinges and turned it to splinters and sticks in the middle of the common room. Had he always been that strong or was it the contact with the wanderer that had increased his physical strength? Limero wondered.
Oneg had been sitting in silence watching his brother wrecking the place until now. He showed no sign of any emotion so far and looked upon this all as if he was a mere spectator. He had been like that since the boys had returned to their normal selfs, moments after the doors had been opened. The glow in their eyes had subdued first and their skins had lightened and returned to their initial coloring as they stopped acting in perfect unison and started to speak according to who they were.
The acolytes had had them removed to this cottage while they took care of the dead and the dying. Limero had sent Maasil to fetch food and drinks and followed the boys on his own, expecting to answer many questions. Maasil had been some time but there was no sign of him which worried Limero a little while part of him was happy the little boy did not get in arm's way by being in the cottage subjected to the blind rage of Terrey. The old master was contemplating the notion that he should have seen it coming being aware as he was of the particular emphasis the Keregan put on trustworthiness and honesty.
Farenn walked to Terrey and placed his hand on the boy's shoulder. He spun round as if he was ready to tear apart the one who had dared touch him but his face instantly mellowed when he saw Farenn's. They looked into each other's eyes for an instant and Farenn spoke.
"I want to hear what he has to say."
'Oh, dear goddesses.' Limero thought, 'the bottomless pits of cold contempt in the voice of that boy.
The young Menekigg turned to face the monk and was about to said something when the door opened. Feletones walked in leaning heavily on his walking stick.
"Could I suggest that we remove this conversation to a cottage that is actually intact and equipped with functional seats? The one next door now contains your traveling bags and some food and drinks have been set up by your companion the very efficient Maasil." He smiled benevolently at them and added: "Shall we?" but without waiting for their reply he turned back and walked outside shuffling with some difficulties. Farenn looked at Terrey meaningfully but when that one nodded 'no' he simply grabbed him by the neck and took him forcibly through the door. Oneg stood up and showed the door to Limero.
"To be honest, and I hope this won't make matters worse." Feletones started, "We don't know what it is he did to you exactly."
They all sat around a table heavily laid with food but no one was eating.
"His name so far as we can tell was Starwanderer. He arrived here exactly on the day of your births and he came from the stars."
The boys looked at each other trying to decide what to make of this but the old monk continued.
