The moment I opened my blurry eyes, there was only one thing I could feel.
Pain.
Excruciating pain.
Mind-numbing, soul-searing pain all over my body.
A groan escaped past my dry, cracked lips as I twisted my body to the side. The sheet beneath me felt like it was melting under my weight, so soft, so smooth.
I closed my eyes in bliss.
"Hold still, Sir."
I buried my face deeper into some fluffy pillow, barely noticing those even softer little hands rubbing something cool over my bare, burning stomach.
The hands lightly grazed my body before I felt the absence of their warmth. The cool thing they put on my body, my whole body now that I realized, soothed those aching muscles in seconds.
I sighed.
Those hands returned soon and cradled my heavy head, placing it in what felt like a lap.
"Here," her gentle tone coaxed me as she pressed some metal against my lips.
I wetted my lips while gulping the cool water down my dry throat. After a while, I sighed, moving my head away a bit.
Cool metal left my lips and soft fingers trailed over my mouth to wipe off stray drops of water.
"Feeling better, Sir?" The ringing voice asked.
I grunted in response. That warm presence reminded me of someone.
Someone I knew. Someone with long, midnight curls and deep, sapphire orbs.
