Red apple X Golden Apple

Chapter 3

 Golden gaped at the art piece in front of her. the piece depicted a flowering meadow full of color and greenery. mushrooms dotted the canvas like stars in the night sky and in the center sat a heavily detailed cottage with ivy cascading down the walla of the structure. in front of the cottage sat a shining golden goddess. her hair was the color of sunshine and honey long and flowing. she sat with a smile as she wore a flowing dress so luxurious it seemed as if it was made of light.  the shining goddess contrasting the colorful greenery surrounding her . but what stood out most of all to golden was that in the goddess's hands was a basket that held a bouquet of sunflowers and red apples. 

everone in the exibition hall were led out by the security so that the judges could take a look at each piece. Red and golden went to the school garden while they waitied. golden's face flushed red before speaking up

" Hey Red was the goddess in your painting meant to resemble me by any chance"

Golden looked away red-faced not looking her in the eyes 

with a flushed face she replied" Y-yes it is "

" red "

" yes"

" I like you," she said almost yelling  it out her face averted from Red's 

"I like you too" she replied shocked that she felt the same way 

" not in like a friend way ?" she said hopefully 

" not in a friend way in a like-like way" 

both girls were embarrassed beyond reason but were also extraordinarily happy. it was silent for some time before it was broken by Golden 

" So does this make us girlfriends ?"

" that depends. will you be my girlfriend?"

" of course silly " 

" then yes "

there were 20 more minutes until the results of the competition would be announced. the two spent it holding the hands of each other and cuddling in the garden. sitting there it seemed as if time slowed as they spent each second soaking up each others presence. 20 minutes later an announcement was put out over the loudspeakers for everybody to return to the exhibition hall.  reluctantly the two got up from the ground and began walking over hand in hand. a tall man stood up at the microphone and began to announce the results. 

" In first place, we have mushroom  with her piece called" morning grass" 

red looked slightly disappointed at the fact that she didn't win but that all washed away with hope and the knowledge that her special new girlfriend adored it. 

" in second place we have Red Apple's piece called "Enchanted forest"

Red looked excitedly at her girlfriend smiling with glee. letting go of her girlfriend's hand she made her way up to the podium to receive her second-place prize. smiling at her girlfriend in the crowd. golden and red spent the rest of the day at red's house celebrating her accomplishment.

before Golden left Red invited her and her family to Red's harvest festival dinner

(it's like Thanksgiving but not thanksgiving isn't a worldwide holiday so I did this)

as November slowly began to come to a close the two girls spent every day together. 

 the dinner had been a wonderful success both families had gotten along quite well. and had gotten to know each other better. 
Red knew that her father wouldn't approve of her and Golden's relationship so the two began thier secret romance. Every night the two would call each other and talk if thier future. They would talk if orchards and cottages in floral forests with mushrooms under the trees. Wearing flowing ruffles dresses and sunhats with flowers in the ribbons. Secluded from the world on thier own little farm. Living together in a magical world of thier own.

By winter they knew what they wanted to do. They had decided to build a small cottage big enough for the two of them.  All throughout December the two worked to find a place to build thier dream home. Every day after school the two would spend hours looking for a place for thier cottage.  While looking the two girls made thier blueprints of building. 2 months had passed until they finaliy found thier spot. A mossy woodland forest of the outskirts of town. It was deep enough in forest to conceal thier project yet close enough to be able to go into town for supplies and food.
By late February thier spot was secured. Red and golden graduated from school in early April allowing for the two to spend all spring and summer working on the house. For hours every day they worked hard building and designing. By October the house was half complete. The entire outside if the house had been built. The inside still needed lots of work finishing up the electric and plumbing . It was quite a feat they had accomplished by themselves. But they needed help. They decided to tell thier mother's about thier project later that evening.
The two ladies were on board with the project. Red's mom was skilled in plumbing while Golden's mother had some experience in electrical. Until November the ladies worked day and night. winter brought a stop to the project however. With a heavy heart the ladies covered the house with tarps and packed up thier tools. Packing up the house wasn't the only thing that caused a heavy heart.
