Skyla's POV.

I was immediately welcomed by my friends and pack members. Logan my little brother came and gave me a hug, he was always more accepting of werewolfism than I was. "Hey Logie bear." I said. "Logie wolf," he corrected me with, giggling and I burst out laughing as well. "Log then." I replied with a straight face. Cole and I's betas submitted to me, but with a huge, happy smile on their face. When they stood up I gave Dixie, my beta a huge hug, until I had to stop because I could no longer breathe. Ethan, Cole's beta gave me a playful-ish scowl and I smirked back recalling how much of a pain he is. I hate him and he hates me equally but I know he would die for me or Cole, if the time came. Usually an Alpha and Luna would only have one beta but considering he was Alpha male of his pack and I was Alpha female of my pack, so we figured there was no reason why we'd have to 'demote' one of them when we mated and joined our packs together.

I followed them through to the living room, nothing's changed I thought, I wonder why. Before me were the rest of my pack, bowing down showing me that their loyalties still lie with me. Me and Cole were relatively lenient Alphas and we weren't the type that made everyone bow down every time they seen us and we also didn't try to make them quake with fear when they heard our names.

In front of me everyone stood up. "Hey Evelyn, how are you keeping up?"

"Good thanks," she replied "he's still being a pain in the ass, though." She said pointing a finger at Ethan, her twin.

"Hi Noah, Jade; good to see you and of course Lexi," Her full name Alexia I said with a slightly mocking voice. "Hey Tom, long time no see."

Each one took turns giving me a heartfelt hug or just a big smile, until I smelt a new scent, one I hadn't recognised before but very strangely felt familiar, like I'd met her or at least I meant to know her, I looked at the end of the 'line'. "And you areeeeeeeeeee?"

"Libby," The beautiful young girl said "er... I'm Logan's mate." She said with a slight shyness, but you could tell she was proud and I could also sense Logan's pride from the opposite end of the room.

"Oh. That bastard ay, didn't even tell his big sister that he's found his 'one true love'. I had a light hearted laugh and so did she, although it might have just been nervousness. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Logan take a few steps back and hide behind Damon in a funny, embarrassed way. LOL. We exchanged pleasantries and stuff, caught up and I told them about school and friends I'd made.

That is when I smelt something I never thought I'd smell again, the most incredible scent. The smell of fresh rainwater- like when you step out a tent after camping in the morning after a night of rainfall. The best scent ever. I slowly turned my head to see my handsome, mouth watering mate, standing on a step leading to the kitchen. My eyes met his mesmerising, emerald green eyes and the missing piece of my soul returned to my body, everything felt clear again, I could think straight. I took in his defined 6-pack visible through his tight fitting shirt, and his bulging biceps. His jet black hair styled messily, my hands itching to run through it. However, then the memories hit me like a brick. The love, passion and genuine happiness of being around him; but with that also came the anger, betrayal, pain and hurt. The feeling of eternal darkness. My heart skipped a beat recollecting the events that caused me to leave my life as Alpha at the packhouse behind, and my heart be broken in two.
