"Ah I'll be late!" You say quickly hopping onto your bike, peddling as fast as you can to get to the school. It was only the first day back and you were already going to make a bad impression!
"Crap, Crap, Crap! 5 minutes left until class!" You were now running into the building, grabbing your schedule out of your bag and trying to find your way through the second year hallway.
"Class 2-B, Class 2-C, Class...Umph!" Since you were so focused on looking for your classroom, you hadn't even noticed that there was somebody standing directly in front of you.
"Hey, watch it will ya!" They practically barked. Without a second thought, you snapped.
"You should've moved! And what's up with your tone dude! It's like 8:30 in the morning!" The person in front of you stayed silent, anger still evident in their face, but they decided to keep quiet for now. You grabbed your things and got up, getting a closer view of the person in front of you. He wasn't too tall, but he looked pretty strong. His hair was blonde, with black stripes running from the sides and through the back of his head, almost like a bumble bee. Despite the odd choice in a hairstyle, what really stood out to you, were his honey brown eyes. They looked so pure, so warm.
He glared at you for about a second and then looked away.
"Sorry for yelling..." He finally mumbled before turning around and leaving. You didn't even question him. A few seconds later and the bell rang.
"For crying out loud!" You yelled. You made it to your class a few minutes late but luckily your teacher had excused it.
Come lunch time, you decide to meet up with some of your friends outside to eat. You get out of your classroom and make your way to the old tree you would always sit at during sunny days in your first year of highschool.
"Y/n there you are!" Called out your best friend Aiko. She was pretty short, with straight light brown hair and dark blue eyes. Next to her sat another one of your friends, Mizumi. Mizumi was of average height, he had light green eyes and wavy black hair.
"I heard that you were late to class this morning." Said Mizumi in his quiet relaxed tone.
"Aw man, is that already spreading around." You said massaging your temple.
"I guess. But you being late isn't really what's spreading. What everyone is really talking about is-" Aiko swiftly put her hand over his mouth. She then decided to interupt.
"Your hair! Yeah your hair! It looks great, everyone loves what you did with it!" You took a second to think about it. It was pretty obvious that wasn't true, but if Aiko was keeping whatever this was a secret, then it must have been to protect you from something. She never kept anything from you.
"Y-yeah. I guess I did trim it a bit over break. I'm glad they all noticed." She gave a sigh of relief, letting her hand fall off of Mizumi's mouth slowly. Mizumi had found it best to change up the topic, to avoid any awkward conversations.
"Hey guys, I'm going to go to the vending machine, you two want me to bring you anything?" You got up from your spot on the grass and began to stretch.
"Can we both get juice?" They asked looking up from their now half eaten bentos.
"Sure, I'll be right back then." You responded quick and easy. You made your way to the vending machine, grabbing yourself an iced coffee and two juice boxes for Mizumi and Aiko. Just as you were about to head back, you noticed someone familiar.
"Hey! It's Bumblebee head! The one from earlier!!" You began to wave at him. He looked back at you, his face kind of blank, yet confused.
"Do you remember me!" You began to walk towards him.
"How could I forget?" He answered. You chuckled a bit. When you first met him, he seemed angry, but his eyes weren't. You could tell he felt even the slightest bit at fault for what had happened earlier that day. Though right now, they were calm and relaxed. When you stared into them, it seemed as if you were to be standing right in front of a campfire, all warm and fuzzy.
"So, I uh...never caught your name." You looked at him, with a warm smile.
"Oh uh, it's Kyoutani..." He mumbled. He looked down while he was responding. It was kind of cute.
"That's a nice name. I'm y/n. Nice to meet you, formally that is. I know we may have gotten off on the wrong foot, but I hope we can still be friends." You looked at him and grinned a bit. He seemed so nice, why did he put off such an angry face earlier?
"Yeah..me too..." He responded still partially looking down, one hand holding onto his other arm.
"Ah, well I should get going. My friends are waiting for me at the old tree over there. It was nice formally meeting you Kyoutani. Hope to see you again soon!" You ran off to the tree waving goodbye to him.
Lunch ended around 5 minutes later and Aiko practically scolded you for being so late with the drinks. Continously complaining about how thirsty she was. Mizumi just laughed it off. You then went to your final classes and once the last bell rang, you went outside to ride your bike back home.
'Today was a nice day.' You thought to yourself while smiling. "That Kyoutani kid seems like he's a kind hearted person. Though I am curious as to why he acts so angry when his eyes say otherwise. Oh well, I'm just glad I got to meet him. Even if it was just by accident."This is the first chapter to this fanfiction! I hope you enjoyed and stick around to read more ^^
