Lost Tape

{BEGIN TAPE}

[intake of breath]

[shifting]

Kevin Lancaster was born in 1983, to a single parent household. Growing up, his mother had tried to give him a happy childhood, showering him with affection and fun surprises. He went on to complete a course in human biology and in the culinary arts.

Moving on from his unsettled childhood, Kevin began to work at a small restaurant in california, where his life settled out and he bought a house, using up his savings. It was a moderate home, just big enough to remind him that he wanted a family, and Kevin entered the dating world.

As the restaurant where he worked grew, Kevin began rising in the ranks. From a dishwasher and part time taste-tester, he became a fully fledged chef, earning this rank when he began making the other staff lunch.

Kevin's brilliance shone as he didn't stop at being just a plain chef. As the rest of the kitchen staff was promoted to work at an offshore location, Kevin became head chef. Quickly establishing himself, Kevin discovered his signature dish, sauteed asian paddy straw mushrooms and broccoli.

[shifting]

Many previous patrons did not like the price at which he sold this dish, claiming to have seen him around some oak trees, where supposed 'poisonous mushrooms' grew. These accusations were proved wrong, however, when those patrons tried the dish and agreed, it was worth the price after all.

Kevin was at the top of the pecking order in his restaurant, and had aims to become the CEO of the business, not just head chef. But before he took top spot, Kevin wanted to have a family to support. He began actively seeking a girlfriend, having gone on three dates prior to meeting Emily. These prior flames wouldn't play another part in Kevin's life.

Emily was the light of Kevin's life. Kevin teased Emily lovingly, gently encouraging her to lose weight and start experimenting with makeup and other accessories. Emily also started off their relationship by saying she didn't want children, but Kevin persuaded her around after he proposed.

Their wedding was amazing and beautiful, bringing several tears up from Emily's side of the family. Unfortunately, Kevin's family couldn't attend, leaving one side of the church sad, and one side cold.

[suppressed laugh]

Their honeymoon started with a bang, as Emily tripped up the stairs to the private plane Kevin had hired. It got more eventful, leading to Kevin and Emily standing on the wing of the jet.

[shifting]

Luckily, it was just a computer malfunction, and a replacement helicopter lifted them to the island Kevin had rented. unrelated, the pilot and two stewardesses became ill with violent food poisoning, leading to the unfortunate deaths of all three.

within the year Georgina "Georgie" Lancaster was born. Within a month, Emily was pregnant again.

[coughing]

Emily was already taking time off of her work for Georgie, so Kevin and Emily decided that Emily would quit her job as Kevin was supplying enough money to support their family.

Kevin sent the CEO of the restaurant company a letter, encouraging him to contact his rivals to try and make a business deal. weeks later, Kevin was made CEO of the company and a deal was hashed out to conjoin the companies. seeing his potential, or possibly his ruthless business methods, each of the alternate CEOs took time off, before leaving the company.

Still working in the kitchen, Kevin perfected his signature dish, attracting the attention of others, who attempted to recreate the dish. However, it seemed that kevin had a secret ingredient - what, though, is still up for debate.

[shifting]

Kevin did more for his kitchen as he took three amatur cooks under his wing. He taught them how to make his signature dish, along with other dishes that he had made his mark on.

[shifting]

However, as these dishes were so complex, none tried to recreate them.

Several years passed, and Emily began looking for a new job. Kevin was apprehensive of this, telling her her place was in their home, looking after their children, who she homeschooled.

Several business rivals were jealous of Kevin, seeking to stop his exploits into food innovation. This led to the hiring of several thugs, who attacked Kevin as he walked to his car. Using a variety of tools to subdue him, Kevin was rushed to hospital.

[shifting]

later, his wife would die of a broken heart, and his children would suffer from the unfortunate loss of both of their parents, with both falling into rapid health declines-

[door slams]

FOR GOD'S SAKE, NARRATE PROPERLY!

[Scuffling]

I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN

[Blow lands]

[Scuffling]

KEVIN MURDERED over SIX HUNDRED people in his lifetime!

[blows landing]

ouch!

[paper flipping]

It's ALL wrong! You've just made all of it up!

No! Kevin was good!

[blow lands]

[CRACK]

No! Kevin died in a prison!

He killed at least thirty people with botulinum toxin, and the rest with his 'signature',

death caps made to look like asian paddy straw mushrooms.

[muffled mumbling]

Do Not Deny It. It took two guards and three inmates

to stop him killing half of the prison population!

[more mumbling, vague, muffled and low 'I don't believe']

You are worse at narrating than that non-verbal person we have.

And, those people who see his work could have just read the book!

[shifting]

[pages flipping]

No, scratch that, you are worse than the writer at narrating.

[gasp]

[door creaks]

[groaning]

[threatening mumbling]

[THUMP]

[door creaks]

[pages flipping]
