"MIDORI-BRO!" I hear a familiar voice shout his nickname for me. Turning around, I see our resident embodiment of manliness, Ejiro Kirishima, waving his hand and jogging toward me. He's about in inch shorter than me, standing at 5'7" He's wearing a pair of black jeans and red tee shirt with the symbol of Crimson Riot on it. I'm wearing a pair of dark sweats and a black shirt with the white kanji for 'shirt' on it, a green zip up hoodie and my classic red high tops.
"Kirishima. Didn't expect to see you in this part of town." I say, as he slows down a bit as he gets close
"You didn't? My parents live over here. Few blocks that way." He says, pointing behind him.
"Oh. Guess I didn't know. I live more that way." I say, pointing west of where he came from.
"Cool! So, you going to the mall?" He asks, and I nod.
"I got nothing fucking better to do, so I figured why the fuck not." I say, and Kirishima looks a bit shocked. Oh shit, I cursed, didn't I?
"Did you just curse?" Kirishima asks, and I sigh
"Yeah. I curse outside of school. I actually have a filter inside of school, unlike Bakugo. But outside of school, I curse whenever I want." I say, and Kirishima nods
"Okay. I just kinda didn't expect it, ya know. You've got this whole......" Kirishima says, trailing off
"Cinnamon Roll thing? Yeah, I know. Appearances can be deceiving. But uh, don't tell Bakugo about this side of me. Knowing him, he would flip his shit because 'I was hiding this from him' Which is true, to be fair." I say, and Kirishima laughs
"True. When's the next train?" Kirishima asks, and I check my phone
"About 15 minutes." I reply, and he sighs
"Damn. You know any places to hang out before we gotta go get on the train?" He asks, and I think about it
"Nah. Not anywhere where it would be fun to hang out for 15 plus minutes." I reply, and he sighs, then puts him arm around my neck in a kind of hug.
"You can't think of anything?" He asks, and I shake my head
"Not really." I say, and then we're both blown off of our feet. The rumble of massive explosion reaches our ears, and then a giant dust cloud washes over us
"HOLY SHIT!" I shout, getting to my feet. I turn around and help up Kirishima.
"What the hell was that?" Kirishima asks, looking in the direction from where the sound came.
"An explosion, dumbass!" I shout, as I see people beginning to run our way. I stop one, a young man not that much older than us
"Did you see what happened?" I ask the guy, and he shakes his head
"I was just walking towards the place, when I hear a really loud sound, and I see a massive wave of dust billowing toward me. I just started running." The man says, clearly panicked.
"Alright. Get out of here, call the police and EMT's. Kirishima. Let's go." I say, pulling off my jacket.
"Right!" He says, as we both break into a sprint, heading toward the destruction. I dodge people, the occasional animal, and random pieces of debris as we get closer. As we do, I activate Full Cowl at 15%.
"Kirishima! Find any survivors, and help them. I'm heading deeper in." I say, as we reach the edge of damage zone. It's massive, several blocks across, and I can hear people groaning in pain
"Gotcha!" He says, and heads into the nearest building. I head deeper into the disaster zone, running around and leaping among the pieces of twisted rubble. I decide to check a fairly damaged building for survivors, and as I do, I hear someone crying. They sound young. Poking around further, I spot a little girl, about Eri's age. She kinda reminds me of her. She doesn't look anything alike. But that look in her eyes..... that look of fear. She's trapped under a slab on concrete. She also has a small cut on her forehead. Her pink hair is caked in a layer of dust, and her big brown eyes dart around everywhere.
