Kofo couldn't remember when She'd fallen asleep last night. She'd been thinking about him and she was still thinking about him now as she was preparing for a shower. She lightly shook her head wanting the thoughts to leave.
She breathed in deeply before picking up her clothes that she'd put aside earlier on. Stepping into the shower, she turned it on, letting the water fall into her hair and then cascade down her shoulder and the rest of her body. She washed her hair and then her body. Stepping out she wrapped a towel around herself and then one around her hair.
After dressing up, Kofo tugged at her hair with a wide toothed comb before finally being able to pull it into a bun. She followed the sweet aroma of pancakes out the door and down the stairs. In the kitchen, Benjamin was at the stove and Liam seemed to be chatting with him. She noticed how Benjamin seemed to be the only staff Liam had apart from the Chauffeur from yesterday. She wondered if he lived here too. Liam looked up just as she entered."I was just about to come get you, do you want to work out with me?" He asked.
"You workout?" Kofo asked in disbelief as she took a seat in the kitchen.
"Of course I do. I didn't get this muscular just by laying about."
"You? Muscular? Oh please you're one sandwich away from being fat."
"Jeez Kofo, no need to be so mean about it. If I'd known hiring you would have made me deal with your sass, I would have chosen the other guy." Liam frowned.
"What was his name?,started with an 'R'.""Rafael?" Kofo asked, smiling to herself.
"Why are you smiling? Who is he? Is he my competition?"
"'Why are you talking like that?" Kofo asked him while ignoring his questions.
"Like what?" He replied.
"Like you're interested or something."
"Maybe I am, are you?" Liam was toying with her now. Kofo blushed at the fact that he might be interested in her. He was definitely handsome with his black hair that hung in front of his eyes sometimes, his green eyes, high cheekbones, defined jawline and light stubble.
Kofo blinked and told herself he wasn't her type and that she didn't need a man and was doing just fine with her status being single but then again it wouldn't hurt to dream right? and then maybe ogle some eye candy in the process. Kofo sighed just as Liam snapped his fingers in front of her face. She snapped out of her reverie, her eyes focusing on him again."You're staring, it's rude you know. We were just talking, where did your mind fly off to just now?" Kofo felt embarrassed and a little bit angry that he'd caught her staring.
"Leave me alone, go bother Benjamin or something." She managed to reply before getting of her seat and leaving the kitchen.
"What about your breakfast?" He called after her.
"Not hungry anymore!" She yelled.
Liam shook his head, smiling to himself.
"Guess it's just the two of us and breakfast Benjie."
"Perhaps Master Liam should stop teasing Miss Kofo, maybe then she would be more comfortable around him." Benjamin said to Liam while setting a plate of food in front of him.
"Nah, I enjoy her reaction way too much." Liam picked up his fork, ready to start eating when Benjamin spoke again.
"Your mother called, she said to inform you that she and the rest of the family would be coming for a visit." Liam's smile dropped, instantly disappearing the second he heard those words.
He dropped his fork soon after."On second thought, I'm not hungry anymore. Thank you Benjamin." He slid of his seat, exiting the room.
"Perhaps I should have waited until he was finished with breakfast." Benjamin muttered under his breath.
Later on...
Kofo sat on the couch in Liam's study. She was reading a book while Liam sat at his desk doing some office work. The picture the chief had shown her earlier was still fresh in her mind so it put her on edge. She dropped the book she was reading and started walking to and fro. She made her way towards the windows, peeked through the curtains before she stood in front of the couch.
Kofo liked to be prepared for anything. She liked knowing every single detail, that way she wouldn't be caught unawares. Not knowing when this maniac after Liam was going to strike again made her incredibly nervous. She hated failing at any thing. She sat down with her leg bouncing nervously and then stood up again.
"Please stop being so anxious Kofo, you're distracting me. I've got a whole lot of work to finish and you're not helping."
Kofo frowned. It was his life that was in danger not hers, yet he was still way more calm than she was. Kofo bit her lip just as her phone buzzed in her pocket.
She read the text Rafael sent her on their group chat, unknowingly smiling to herself. He was checking up on her. She sat down on the couch again, finally feeling relaxed with the smile still on her face. She texted a reply back just as another came in. It was from Alex and it said "shoot your shots well Kofo, you're not going to stay young forever."
Kofo sent another text: what does that even mean?
Her phone buzzed again, this time it was text from Xander. It said "It means get a boyfriend or you'll be a lonely cat lady for the rest of your life."
Alex replied with a 'don't be rude.' Kofo exited the chatroom. Knowing those too, they would start bickering very soon. They bickered and fought so much that it made Kofo wonder how on earth they had shared a womb.
Kofo rolled her eyes, Xander was one to talk, he didn't have a partner either. Rafael had gone offline, he probably had a lot of work to do. Kofo sighed just as Liam stood up abruptly."Alright, let's go out." He said, grabbing his jacket.
"What?" Kofo asked confused.
"You're just begging for my attention with your sighing and pacing."
He started walking to the door.
"I didn't realise you were so lonely." Liam looked at her with a teasing smile. Kofo was just about ready to burst.
