We stepped outside and were immediately hit by a wall of chilly air though it was almost refreshing in a sense. Being with Pete made me feel a certain way. Maybe it was anxious because he was just so cute but we couldn't take this farther than friends, we were coworkers and it would make things weird. Right? Maybe it was fear, fear because what if something did come of this friendship. All my past relationships were horrendous. From the constant cheating to the emotional pain. As for now, I'm just happy to be growing a friendship. We walked to his car and climbed in
"Well, where are you taking me, Pete?" I asked looking at him.
"That's for me to know and you to find out Y/N," he said with a small smile. I chuckled a little bit in response. Plugging in my phone to the AUX cord and putting my favorite playlist on shuffle. I sang and danced along to the songs to pump myself up a little bit feeling the tension lift off my shoulders a little bit. It wasn't long before Pete joined in, his brown hair flopping around as he danced, the both of us laughing through the lyrics as we goofed around. He drove for maybe 45 minutes before we pulled into a parking lot. The building was quite large but I still had no idea where we were. We hopped out of the car and then I saw it, the sign that said "THE NEW YORK AQUARIUM" my eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. I quickened my pace it wasn't hard for Pete to keep up with since his legs are long.
        "I insist on paying for our tickets because-" before I could even finish my thought he looked up from his phone which he had been typing on for a few moments and said "Too late I already bought tickets online so we could get in quicker and have more time to look around before we have to leave" I reluctantly agreed I wasn't happy that he paid for the tickets but I know i'll be able to pay him back whether it be the next time we do something together or I could even put it in his dressing room while he's onset. We get through the line rather quickly and walked into the area called the "Conservation Hall" to look at the smaller fish, eels, stingray, and different types of corals. Everything was so wonderful the colors and the beauty of nature I was amazed and I could tell Pete was too I kept sneaking small looks at him wondering, what he was he thinking? Was this date going well? Is this going to make us awkward towards each other at work?
        After a few hours of walking through the sections of the building and exploring the different things outside we left. Thankful we left soon enough so we could grab a bite to eat before work.
"How much do you trust me?" Pete questioned making me oddly nervous
"Um that depends on what your asking" I answered him honestly
"Do you trust me enough to rock your world with the best piece of pizza you will ever put in your mouth?" He asked innocently
"Well in that case I do trust you" I smiled at him. After a traffic filled 45 minute drive we ended up at Sacco Pizza. Making sure I ordered first so that I could pay, I ordered a slice of cheese pizza with chicken and bacon, garlic knots for us to share and a water. While Pete got two slices of pepperoni pizza and a diet coke. After paying and finding a seat we took a seat.
"So this is the best pizza in New York?" I asked
"Best in New York and possibly in the world he said excitedly before biting into his first slice. I took my first bite of mine and oh my goodness it really was the most delicious pizza I'd ever had. It tasted like a slice of heaven and the garlic knots were even better. We had lost track of time in the midst of all the eating and talking, when I finally looked down at my phone I realized it was already 6:20 and we only had 10 to be at work.
"Shit Pete we gotta go we have 10 mins to be at work" I told him in a panicked tone. Traffic wasn't bad which was surprising since the city is always packed with people. We got to work with two minutes to spare. Pete told me to set my stuff in his room to save time. We walked to the meeting room together and I let him go in before me so I could take a moment to calm myself down for my first day. Hopefully this goes well!

A/N- I just want to apologize for making you guys wait so long for an update. It's been a rough few months with Covid things and some personal things but I love you guys and I'm hopefully back for good now
