Naomi
I'm sitting in the living room waiting for Matt to come home. I glance down at my phone to check the time and its 2 am. I sigh before getting up to look out the window to see if I see him coming down the street. Nope, he's still not here. I've been looking out the window every 30 mins since midnight. That's when he said he would be home. I groan and frown deeply; he never comes home when he says that he will.
Matthew Bates is my boyfriend. We live together because my parents kicked him out of their house so I went with him. I actually didn't have a choice; he demanded that I leave with him. My parents didn't like that I left but at the same time they didn't care what I did as long as I went to school and have good grades. Otherwise I can't stay here with him.
Anyways we've known each other since we were little. He was just my neighbor then became my best friend. Well besides my other best friend Violet Summers. She and I have been friends since 8th grade.
Walking back over to the couch, I curl up like I was before and continue reading "After" By Anna Todd. I hum softly, Hardin reminds me of Matt. They have similarities. I really like Tessa. She keeps denying to herself that she doesn't like Hardin but I think otherwise. I started reading this cause Violet, recommended it to me because she said that Hessa reminded her of us and that it's an amazing book. I agree so far that it's a good book; I'm on the first book though and a few chapters in. So I'm not sure if Hessa is like us yet but I'm really enjoying it so far. So I continue to read while I wait for Matt to get home.
I suddenly see lights go across the window awhile later. I'm hoping that its Matt cause that usually means that he is home. I sigh in relief as I'm pulled away from my imaginary world of Hessa and back to reality. I slide my bookmark between the pages, closing the book and sit it next to me. I have the door already unlocked for him. Not sure what state he is in right now, he went out with his friends and I really hope he's not too drunk. I sigh softly and close my eyes for a moment. I open them right as he opens the door and there I see a drunken Matt stumbling through the doorway. I sigh again before getting up and walking over to him.
"Babe, you were supposed to be home two hours ago... where have you been..?" I asked concerned.
He looks at me and shrugs. "Out." He mumbles while somewhat walking around me. I huff.
"I know that... I've called and texted you and you never answered me." I speak softly while watching him.
"Got caught up, sorry..."He slurs, trying to go up the stairs without falling. I walk after him and put my small hands on his waist to keep him from falling face first.
"It's fine, careful..." I say in a worried tone. I help him get upstairs and to our room while he mumbles words that I can't comprehend.
We get to our room; He flops down on the bed, already falling asleep. I walk over to him and start undressing him, he lifts his body as he lets me do so and I leave him in his boxers. He moves and pulls the covers over himself and his head. I pull him more onto his side of the bed and he groans in protest.
"shhh." I shush him. I kiss his blanket covered head and walk out the door to get him Advil and a cup for water, for when he wakes up in the morning.
I come back into the room and place them on his nightstand and then I crawl onto the bed and get under the covers next to him. I turn my back to him and hug my pillow.
A few moments later I feel Matt's arms wrap around me pulling me back against his chest and nuzzling his face into my neck. I can feel him breathing softly against my neck. I nuzzle him back and snuggle against him as I drift off to sleep.
