Soomin was a ball of nerves as they traveled towards a port in Busan. The sky was filled with orange, blue and pink hues of sunset. It was picturesque but she couldn't see any of it.
Namjoon had assured her time and again that everything would be fine. There was a possibility that Soongho's men might be waiting by the ship that she was supposed to take and so, Namjoon had handed her a revolver saying if anything happened she should use it.
Soomin touched the revolver in her back, feeling a little secure as she glanced around the port. It was deadly silent and whatever security she felt, vanished.
"Namjoon-ah, this doesn't feel right." She said desperately grabbing his jacket and sticking close to his side. "Yeah, it does feel weird." He agreed.
He turned around, making her look into his eyes. "Listen to me carefully, Soomin." He said, his face serious, eyes grave but alert. "Whatever happens, you must trust me and my teammates. Okay? If I tell you to hide, you hide, if I tell you to run, you run. Without looking behind. You understand?" A shiver of fear ran down her spine at his words. "I-I understand." He gave her small smile before hugging her tightly to him. "Good. And remember, save yourself. I can defend myself just fine."
The screeching of tires cut through the eerie silence. The couple's head swinged in the direction of the two cars. Hand in hand they waited for the occupants of the car to unload.
Soomin's blood ran cold when she saw the maniac like expressions on Soongho's face. His crooked smile was pure evil and she couldn't help taking a step behind as he took a step forward.
Soongho's smile widened seeing her reaction and turned his attention towards Namjoon who showed no emotions on his face but only a little tic in his jaw.
"I'm sorry for being early." Soongho said in a cheerful voice, coming to stand only a few feets away. "I wanted to give you a surprise. So, here goes. Surprise!" He said with a grin, his hands in the air in a gesture of surprise. "Did it work?"
Soongho's jaw tightened seeing Namjoon smirk. "Of course it did but I have a surprise of my own." As if on cue, six men emerged from behind the shipping containers, all heavily armed. Namjoon raised his own arms mimicking his actions. "Surprise!"
Soomin looked around her. Taehyung stood close to her, as if ready to bolt with her any moment. The others flanked on either side of them both. The tension in the air was too much, enough to choke someone.
She felt Namjoon's hand loosening from her just as Taehyung's hand wrapped around her arm. It was time.
A sharp sound, as if the air itself was being teared apart was heard and the next thing Soomin saw was the man standing right behind Soongho falling down, a clean hole right between his eyes. Blood spouting out of it right before he fell.
Everything seemed to move in slow motion as some more men fell down the same way, taking down almost half of Soongho's men.
Taehyung's hand tightened around her arm as he pulled her from her daze and started running. Gunshots rang through the silent harbour. Taehyung and Soomin ran for the cover of the metal containers with their heads down.
Bulletproof boys' aims were true as they took out men. They were shocked to see even more people coming from different directions. The six men scrambled for cover. Namjoon pulled out two automated guns out of the backside of the car they were taking cover of, handing one to Yoongi and settling the other in his hands.
Namjoon took a brief moment to look around, seeing his other teammates fighting with all of their will. The sharpshooters placed on certain points were struggling as their hiding place was now jeopardized.
He had to give his all or nothing.Soomin kept her head low, covered by her hands as Taehyung kept an eye where the fight was going on. He knew they couldn't keep hiding here and he needed to get the woman out of here before the police came.
"Soomin, we need to make a run for it." He said shaking her shoulders a bit, the sounds of bullets was getting closer and closer now. "Keep the gun in your hand and shoot anyone who looks threatening. Do you understand?" She nodded, wide eyed but completely alert of her surroundings.
"Let's get it over with." She said, fear disappearing and determination etching itself in her features. Enough with being a helpless woman. It was time for avenging her family.
