Chapter 8

Amazing. Yes, that was how I still remembered that night, even though several months had passed. A night where I got to be the real me, take a bold step without looking back, and not care who I hurt in the process.

Yes, selfish some would say, but for me, during those few moments, all I wanted was to experience something different with someone different and like I said without giving a damn about who got hurt in the process. For that one time, I was glad that I put myself and my pleasures first.

I remember when I got home the next day, the girls didn't waste any time storming into my house to get every single detail from me after I refused to pick up their calls.

She said we were all best friends so they deserved to know everything that happened that night, right from the time we got to his place to the moment I left there and so me being their friend obviously and with a lot of persuasion from Rayna gave them every little detail.

Now, it was back to reality for me. Time for me to look up Job vacancies and all that. Going out every time the girls wanted to was beginning to put a dent in my pockets.

"Opening up a Spa had always been a dream of mine, you know just the idea and the joy it brings to you, knowing that you're doing your own thing and not taking instructions from anyone because you're your own boss" was what Jada revealed to us one afternoon when we went out for lunch. She also revealed that she was taking a cosmetology course online and that before the year was over, with a bit of help from her boyfriend and family she would soon be a Spa owner.

Tabitha on the other hand was waiting to see if she had gotten admission into any of the universities she sent her forms to. She said she felt like it was time to go back to further her education since she didn't really have anything to do at the moment.

The sound of the door opening brought me back from my reverie. I calmed down seeing who it was.

"I had been knocking on that door for the past ten minutes and you didn't respond so i decided to let myself in"

"You always let yourself in Rayna. Anyway I was just so lost in thought that I didn't hear you knock at the door".

"Well was it a nice thought? Thinking about that sexy man again?"

"Urgh why does your thought have to always be dirty".

"You know me so well. She grinned. Well you haven't answered my question."

"Well no. I wasn't thinking about that sexy-

"Ahh so you do admit that he is sexy"

"Have I ever said he wasn't? I held my hand up to stop her from talking seeing as she was about to cut me short. Anyways to answer your question I was thinking about a Job I could possibly do. I mean I don't really think anyone would hire me seeing as I dropped out and stuff like that even if I made it to my third year."

She slumped down beside me and we started talking about random things, after the conversation about my one night stand and Job talk was over, our phones both started to ring and I saw that Tabitha was starting a group facetime call with all of us.

"Hey girls"

"What's up y'all"

"Rayna are you with Kara"

"Yep we are at my house why what's up" I said

"Well guys i'm sitting in my house all alone and I thought to myself why should I be here alone when I've got friends I could hangout with..."

"What are you suggesting Tabitha" I rolled my eyes as Rayna cut her shut.

"Well how about you guys come over for dinner... see it as a girls' night in. I mean we'll basically cook our own food and drink wine and have a sleepover".

"Would love to but-"

"But nothing. We are on our way".

"But I thought we were about to look for Job vacancies."

"We could all pitch in and help. I mean four heads are better than two". Jada said

"Umm I don't think that's how it goes"

"Who cares Kara" they all said simultaneously.

"Jinx' Rayna was the first to say.

"Well we'll pack an overnight bag and head on over.

AN HOUR LATER

TABITHA'S POV

"Ouch" I yelled in sync will the door bell just as I saw I had a slight cut on my finger"

"Just a minute" I said as i put a plaster on my forefinger. I quickly went to open the door to see Jada there.

"Come in. You are the first to arrive. After an hour". I added as an afterthought.

"Sorry the Uber driver wasted my time. He couldn't get the directions right". She smiled as I saw her lie through her teeth.

"Well you could just put your things here and feel free to do whatever as we wait for the two musketeers to show up". We both chuckled as I said this and we both sat down to have random conversations.

Never in a million years did I think that I would sit down this way to have a conversation with Jada but look at us now. Laughing out loud and talking about the plans we both have. Unlikely friendships really are the best and I honestly wouldn't have it any other way.

THIRTY MINUTES LATER

KARA'S POV

"Do you think she would be mad that we came late?". I said in a hushed tone as we waited for Tabitha to come open the door.

"Probably, but it's not like we're to blame" Rayna said

"Who is to blame then" I said, all confused.

"Well we're gonna tell her that the Uber driver delayed us".

"Excuses, excuses, excuses".

"Finally you guy are here".

"Sorry it was traffic and all"

"I believe you" Tabitha said, and boy could i not hear the sarcasm in there.

"So are we gonna get down to cooking or not"
