Soft rays of the sun rolled over the windowsills and spilled into the prison. Dust molecules floated through the air and shimmered as they brushed through the streams of light. Serene silence washed over the prison and caressed the empty cells, a single fly rushed over the empty surface of a metal table before fluttering it's wings and flying off.

Not a source of life seemed to be present, nor was a single can of food left laying around. The prison was swiped clean- the grey concrete walls bare and dull, and the stiff bunkbeds neatly made. Occasional growls and thuds came from the tunnels bellow the prison and echoed throughout the empty rooms.

But despite the calmness and stillness inside the prison, the outside was the opposite. A loud rumble split the silence apart, causing a nearby deer to lift its heads and scramble away. The few stray walkers, roaming the field of the prison, turned their heads into the direction of the loud rumble, only to see truck after truck, filled with armed people, speeding towards the prison.

A single grenade launcher was lifted and a finger pressed down on the trigger. A grenade shot out of the gun and soared through the air before slamming into one of the watchtowers. A loud explosion filled the air, followed by flames engulfing the watchtower, and large pieces of concrete falling and slamming into the ground. One of the walkers snarled, and dragged it's broken leg across the grass and into the direction of the trucks, only for a piece of concrete to fall from the destroyed watchtower and smash it's upper body into the ground.

Guns were raised and bullets were fired- filling the air with loud bangs and booms. The bullets flew through the air in all directions, some hitting the stray walkers and others digging into the ground or bouncing off of the metal fence. The trucks sped into the field of the prison, just as another grenade left the grenade launcher and hit another watchtower.

The roof of the tower caved in and the glass shattered, flames erupted from the tower and ate it from the inside. Debris and blocks of concrete fell to the ground, creating loud thuds that mixed together with the sounds coming from the guns.

The first truck rolled to a stop in the middle of the field, making the rest follow in suit. But the gunfire didn't cease, it only grew larger. Everyone sitting and standing in the trucks raised their guns and fired at the walkers stumbling towards them. Bullet after bullet was painted a scarlet red as they plunged into the rotten skulls of the walkers. And only when the body of the last walker fell to the ground and the growls turned into silence, did the gunfire cease.

The wheels of the trucks spun around to lead the them further towards the main prison. A dead body of a walker laid across the gravel path, leading up to the prison, only for a wheel to drive across the walker's head and squish it underneath the weight. Blood soaked the wheel and left behind a trail of scarlet red as the truck rammed into the metal gate and drove into the courtyard of the prison.

The doors to the trucks flew open and armed people jumped out. Their eyes bounced in all direction- taking in their surroundings and trying to spot any potential danger. Their hands gripped their raised guns and hearts pounded in their chests as they took wary steps forward to go deeper into the courtyard. Despite agreeing to join the war and coming with the governor, these people were nothing more than civilians who had never witnessed, or participated, in a war.
