It was a fine winters morning at 16 Roseville Circuit. Mr Oakwood was working hard while Mrs Oakwood knitting away at her table. Their daughter, Lana Oakwood was in fact studying for her exams which were coming up. Perfectly Muggle things to do. Mr Oakwood was a tall yet very thin man who preferred wearing suits and jeans. As you can tell, he was nothing out of the ordinary. Mrs Oakwood was also very tall and very thin but preferred wearing some dresses, nevertheless still very normal. The whole family would fit into the wide range of muggles, right?

The day before Lana's exams Mr Oakwood took her to Charing Cross Road, a place where dad and daughter like to spend some time. They had finally arrived and walked along the streets looking at people passing by. The thing that Lana found interesting on the street compared to other streets was that sometimes very unusual people used to cross her. Most of the time they used to slip into a little shop called 'The leaky cauldron'.

"Lana, I'll be right back. I've got a surprise for you my dear. Don't move okay?" Mr Oakwood explained quite eagerly

"Okay daddy!" Lana replied.

She waited patiently for a while but then she couldn't hold her curiosity in. She slithered into the tiny shop. It looked like a shabby pub. Nothing like anything she had ever been in. there was a bookshop on one side of it, and record shop on the other. A few people sitting on the \table while a few sittings in the corner. They were holding tiny glasses with wine in it.

As Lana entered the Leaky Cauldron, all the eyes shot towards her. The chatter stopped and everyone was staring her in the eyes. She took a step back before a man in a top hat walked forward. "Good Lord" The man said.

"What happened Doris?" Another man said stepping forward.

"This muggle has entered the leaky cauldron. How is that possible? How did she see it?"

"Oh Doris, she's probably a lost witch. Probably finding her way to Diagon Alley I suppose?"

"No, no Diggle. She is a Muggle"

Diggle, Dedalus Diggle, looked rather amazed as well. He couldn't process the fact a muggle got into the leaky cauldron either.

"Muggle? Diagon Alley? What are you all talking about? I'm sorry but I should probably be on my way I guess." Lana splattered trying to slip out just as sneakily as she slipped in.

"Please. Please stop" Doris, Doris Crockford halted.

Lana stopped and slowly turned her face back towards. She pushed her blonde hair with brown streaks slightly off her shoulder revealing her sapphire gold necklace. Her eyes were matching her necklace slightly. The same blue, although much lighter.

"Child, have you received a letter? A letter from Hogwarts. I bet you did, since only witches and wizards can see the Leaky Cauldron.

"What are you talking about? Witches and Wizards? Sir, I think you've gone mad. Now if you don't mind, I better go" And with that said, she travelled back to the given spot her father told her. She found her father waiting there quite sternly and she explained herself on the way home. But what kept Lana curious about the Leaky Cauldron was the thing they said about the letter. And what really surprised her was when she found this in her mailbox next evening.

She couldn't believe her eyes, and neither could her parents. Magic was real? No, this was probably all just a joke, right? Well Lana's parents certainly seemed so. But Lana, no. She had witnessed a man talk about this letter in the leaky cauldron. It could possibly not be a coincident this letter would pop up in her mailbox later that day. She explained her parents about what exactly happened, but once again they did not believe her.

That's when they heard a quite knock on the door. A tall, stern-looking witch with black hair drawn in a tight bun, walked in. "Hello, Mr Oakwood, Mrs Oakwood, and Lana." She said.

"How do you know our names?" Mr Oakwood asked

"Calm down, I will explain everything. I am Minerva McGonagall, the deputy headmistress, head of Gryffindor house and Transfiguration professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please take a seat I will explain everything to you"

The Oakwood's were left clueless of what had happened but before long left thrilled after all was explained well to them my professor McGonagall herself.
