2 YEARS LATER.
I park the car in front of the house that Manik gifted me in Khandala which has the most beautiful memory of our lives.
We made love for the first time over here.
It's still the same.
Thick clouds surround the place as always with fog blurring the vision after a few metres. We visited this place a few times in the last two years at weekends or whenever we wanted some peaceful environment. Everything has been perfect since the time I married this guy whom I have been in love with.
Loving him has been the best thing my heart did and marrying him added to my good deeds. He is a much mature man than he ever was while I continue to show tantrums which he fulfills happily.
'Your wish is my command' He says everytime I order him.
I have been the luckiest when it comes to having a supportive family, friends and an understanding husband.
But today, I feel Ayiappa himself blessed me showing some extra love for me. Today's reason to visit to this wooden house is different than any other reason. I have planned a surprise for my dear husband. He will be reaching in two hours as per my instructions.
He sounded way too excited and keen to know my intentions behind sudden surprise.
I move in after taking keys from the care taker and asking him to go to his quarters as I will handle everything. I take out a shopping bags and a box from the trunk of my car and take it inside. I close the door and start the preparations.
Since we come often so the kitchen has a few useful utensils along with grocery. I take out the things from the shopping bags that aren't available here but I require.
After removing cake from the box, I place it in the minni fridge to not spoil the icing. I prepared it back at home as we don't have an oven over here.
Well, we never baked cake here.
I open the shopping bags having a few decorative stuff. I pull the high coffee table in the middle of the backyard having a door through the lounge.
A shiver runs across my spine as chilling cold air hits me on my bare arms despite Summers.
I place the table in the middle of the wooden floor which is two steps higher than the grassy lawn. I spread a clean runner over the table. I blow few balloons and tied them to the door facing the table. I take out the hanging circular lamps that I bought on my way and hang them from the branches of the tree as they hover over the stretched woodeen backyard and table I kept.
The fallen leaves have helped me way too much to make it look perfect with a perfect view of mountains at the back. I take a deep breath as the little decorations that I did not look too bad.
I move upstairs to the room that we both live in. I enter and a smile creeps on my lips remembering all the time we spent in this room on this bed. I take out a bed sheet from the cupboard and remove old one. I spread the new sheet over the mattress and change the flowers in the vase placed on the side table. I stare at our picture in the frame placed over the same side table.
I never thought marriage could mean this much of a peaceful life.
I keep the old sheets for the laundry and move to the lounge.
Everything is in place.
Yet I place the cushions correctly over the couch after dusting them to make everything perfect. I enter kitchen and prepare something for the dinner for both of us
