These Violet Eyes
Chapter One
"Loser!" "Freak!" "Loner!"
I sped down the halls, my hood pulled up. I ignored all of those names people were calling me. I'm used to it by now. Ever since I came here, I've been called a whole myriad of names. Some I completely ignored, others made me run home and cry. But that rarely happens. Because, like they say, sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me.
I clutched my books tighter to my chest, hoping that this day will end, and I'll be able to run home and draw. Whenever I had a vision, or even just a little snipit of the future, I would sketch it so later on, I'll be able to remember what I saw. Otherwise, I'd forget, and something terrible could happen; something terrible that I could have prevented.
That's right. I'm a freak, a freak who's able to see the future.
I see things, sometimes terrible things, that will happen. Such as a plane crash, the next lottary numbers, or even my next grade on my history test. I have visions, sometimes they're painful, but that doesn't really faze me. Visions happen by themselves, so anywhere at any time, I could have a vision. Other times, I could make them happen. If I just focus really hard on one topic, and if I say a few words, I can make myself see the future.
I was suddenly stopped by a hard shove that sent my books flying and making me fall on my behind. I looked up through my bangs too see who had pushed me. There stood Reyon Marks, the quarter back, the cool guy, and (I have heard) good in bed. Yuck.
"Whatch where you're going bitch." He glared at me. Reyon stomped away, kicking my Biology book away from me.
"HEY!" A voice yelled. I whipped my head around to a guy dressed in all black. He had long black hair that just went passed his eyes; which were - weirdly enough - the same colour as mine, violet. The guy ran up to Reyon and quickly began to tell him off.
"You have no right to do that to her!" He yelled. He's standing up for me! No one has defended me, ever.
"And whatcha gonna do about that tough guy?" With that Reyon pushed the guy hard. He fell against the lockers, creating a loud sound that echoed throughout the hallway. With one final glare at me, Reyon walked away, taking all of his little followers with him.
I looked at the guy who was on the floor, a good metre away. I was about to say something like 'Thank you' or even ask his name, when he abruptly stood up, fixing his bangs so they covered his violet eyes. He walked over to my Biology book, picked it up, and handed it to me.
"Umm, thank you?" I phrased it like a question. No one has ever done anything nice for me before him. He just nodded.
I was about to ask him if he could help me up, instead of standing there looking down at me, when he spinned on his heel, heading away. What a jerk! He couldn't even help me up!
I quickly stood up gathering all my books. I had noticed the time and I was going to be late! I sprinted down the halls, not caring if people were staring at me in the current mess I was in.
