Chapter 1

(A/N: This one is super short, sorry! It's because I think it ends better like this. Also, not that anyone's actually going to read this, besides me (hello, future me!), but if anyone has name suggestions, that would be great. Have a lovely day!)

(Sherlock's pov)

I had been bored. And when I am bored, I tend to do one of two things: take it out on the wall, or take on stupid cases. As it turns out, this case wasn't going to be so boring after all.

It was John who had seen the papers, and I was the one that had turned the idea down so quickly. I didn't believe in ghosts. It's not logical. This case, with the murders.. this was just an ordinary killer, and the idiots down at Scotland Yard weren't thinking things through, again.

I've had seen it happen before, with the case John called "The Abominable Bride". Some bastard would "return from the dead" and go on a killing spree. The police, being their usual incompetent selves, would come to me, and I would be the one to point out the obvious: that ghosts didn't really exist. Really, it was completely ridiculous to him. I would say it's a new low for the Yard, but that wouldn't even be true. They were idiots.

But mark my words, there never has been an actual case with a spirit, and there never will be. That was simply a fact.
